Just got back from the family day, it was packed. Robbo said he should be playing this week and jeff garlett said he hopes to. I had to leave just before the jumper presentations and last year Ratten made a comment about each player. If he did the same this time a summary of the comments would be nice. The club made heaps of money today, the memberships and merchandise tents were packed with nearly everyone i saw spending hundreds of dollars. Go to renew my membership too which was great.

Some things said were;
Walker should be ready in about 2-3 weeks, Gibbs bulked up, Bentick had a knee injury but not long away, Kreuzer got bigger and looking at number one ruck position, Hadley fit, Yarran should play this Friday, Fisher should play this Friday, Robinson should play this week-he came on stage with his arms in the air, Spoke with Bower and are confident back line should be stronger, Fev is flying, Waite was asked what position he prefers-backline-Ratts said we'll see, Houlihan will be like a new recruit, Jamison spoke well, Garlett was interviewed and asked who his cousin was-Buddy- garlett went on to say he plays better footy( this brought a laugh and cheer). Apologees for Carrazzo (arm) Stevens (wedding) (again) and Setanta.
Good day.

Great day, heaps of people.

How green was the grass, took the thongs off and walked around barefoot all day, forgotten was it was like to see green grass and feel it between the toes.

Ratts also pumped up Adam Hartlett, saying the clubs had very "high hopes" for him this year. I got the distinct impression that Ratts is a fan.

I hope he gets every opportunity to shine in the pre-season and a prolonged stint at CHF in the big time (and no injuries).

Massive crowd. I got the impression that they weren't prepared for as many people that turned up.

Ratts also made no comment on some players (Russell, Anderson and Bannister among them) and I hope that this wasn't a reflection of a lack of confidence in them... maybe I read too much into things.....

Just to kinda go on about what others said... this was the first preseason where fev has completed everything in 7 years

Ratts also commented on ROK's magical left foot

Expressed his condolences for Tiller's situation.

I got the expression that he really rates Bower and Jamo

As previously mention, he described houla as a new recruit... he sounded so excited with houla's preseason form.

Mentioned that Hammo is our fasted player which is amazing for our tallest player... not exactly true but we knew what he was trying to say

Mentioned the growth of Gibbs, Jamo and Kreuzer (said that Kreuzer to try to be our number 1 ruckman)... fev also mentioned he has gained a few Kgs

other things to note from the day... Joseph, Hammo and yarran were doing a water conservation stage thing with Glen Manton, and Hammo is a very confident bloke. Spoke well and joined the "fun" tone... yarran however was very very shy, but still said a few words.

They had no idea the numbers here today would be so big. I know this because when i rocked up, i was a the back of this absolutely massive queue. when i was getting to the queue one bloke at a gate was asking who has their membership card (09 one)... we stated we've bought them, but havent received it yet, he said to go to the line...so that they check the list... but as soon as we get to the back of the queue a guy told us that they are opening another gate, and it was the same one that other man who ask was standing, and they just let everyone in without checking anything.

These are the following players that i noticed that didnt have a marquee... Austin, Hartlett, Johnson, ROK, Tiller, Bentley, Hill, Jacobs, Pfieffer, and as previously mentioned Hammo, Yarran and Joseph... they are the only ones i notice, but im sure there was more.

I haven't been to a family day, but I'm sure I read on here every year that the club weren't prepared for the crowd that turns up :?

I reckon the successor to Akermanis has just walked into the AFL. You don't need to be blueman to foresee that Robbo will be the media's no.1 dial-a-quote in the years to come

Special thanks to Fast Eddie Betts - who got to Agro Jnr and signed his jumper and had a photo taken with him as well - made Agro Jnr's day.

Unfortunately Ms Agro couldnt get to 'her' Marc Murphy as the line was very very very long.

Was wondering if DUC got to 'her' Marc???? These women are very possessive these days aren't they.

I am a new member and yesterday was my 1st Blues family day, I thought it was a terrific day and it really gets you pumped up for the season.
The players were great to my kids when they were roaming around and I thought Shaun Cosgrove (think that's his name) did a top job with the microphone all day.

Go Blues!
