I assume eventually.

Given the economic circumstances what was basically a badly positioned shop that was cheap has become a badly positioned shop.

Good decision to let it go.

It was in the heart of Carlton but in a spot with very little foot traffic comapred to the rest of the retail area.

I think they will just wait till the end of the season for the big opening of the new store.

I actually quite liked the Faraday St positioning - however I understand Jarusa's point. They must have run the numbers and decided the only option was to bail...but disappointing that there won't be a Carlton store open for the entire 2009 football season....a reminder folks - don't buy your club merchandise at Telstra Dome - most of that money will go to Essendon*.

My understanding that this shop was provided by former Director John Valmorbida at no rent (or next to no rent) and was set up at a time in Carlton's very dark history in the "Its my Club and its Personal" campaign.

We have to thank John for that as it gave the club a presence in its heartland of Carlton.
