Another superb article has been submitted to the Blueseum, this one a copy of a match report from 1888.

Just six years after the cricket Ashes came into existence, Carlton experienced their own version when they became the first Aussie rules team to play England.

Now England were a bunch of rugby players from the motherland but they acquited themselves manfully eventually winning more than they lost in their tour around the colonies.

Carlton is tradition.

One holiday period, I'm going to sit down and "Do the Blueseum".

Some of the stuff I've read sends tingles up my spine.

What a rich and magnificent history we have as a club.

I'm so proud to be a Carltonian. I feel cultured because of it.

Not my work though, just advertising it, the find was from a Blueseum contributor who is also a member of TC.

If you have a look back at the turn of the 19th century the Blues were trailblazers in terms of visiting other parts of the nation/other colonies, regular trips interstate, I reckon much more than other teams.
