Best game I have seen McGrath play this year. You can forgive alot of things with a player that can deliver the ball accurately over 50 metres by foot. His intensity was better than I´ve seen in a log time. Well done, was IMO one of the unsung heroes from the game. Bannister? What´s happened to Banno. He was such a great tagger for us last year shutting down so many of the leagues most dangerous. Seems lost, lacking in confidence and it would be a shame to lose a player that can play such an important role for us in the future. Morrell. Isnt it amazing how when u play a player in position how he seems to suddenly look like he knows what he´s doing (excuse the sarcasm). Look, a serviceable game for mine, did some nice things but please Dennis, dont play him down back and then drop him beacuse he gets beaten. He´s a great set shot, good grab and can present well. Did more than Whits has done up forward for weeks ... drop Whits down back if needed. Was trying to remember if he´d played up forward at all this season, anyone? |

B2B: Agree with your post and essentially they were my three observations after the game. I really liked the way Morrell presented and the way McGrath provided a link through half back and am still scratching my head about Bannister. His game against Collingwood last year I thought would be the springboard to 2005. It hasn't worked out for him and the way he is going he may not survive the cull at the end of the year. Seems to have lost some upper body strength and really down on confidence. |
