Agreed. Unnecessary.

I remember Beaumont, Manton and Campo kicking us through the media when we were down. It's shit.

X2. hope the club a) didn't know about this and b) have a little chat to him about it.

He's just telling the story from his side as the Demons portrayed it as something different. I really don't see the big deal, he's not saying anything bad, he's just telling it from his perspective.

Lets welcome Johnson to Carlton and call him a sook.

I love the pre-season and all the storms in a tea cup.

We don't want Johnson to be honest and become a target for the Demons.

I'm sure Sticks will be upset with Johnson's comments and respond with "They know we're coming" and "We are Carlton, @#$%&! the rest!". 8)

Johnson echoed similar sentiment in a Carltonfc.com.au interview, so who gives a stuff about what Melbourne think?

Johnson was entitled to a take a shot back at Melbourne when that fool Connolly said they were going to re-draft him after saying he wasn't in their future best 22.

I hope the Dees were pleased when they heard Johnson received the number nine his father wore at Melbourne.

don't have a problem with anything else he said but i found this line interesting:

"I got an opportunity last year, but I was really made to earn it," Johnson said

he better get used to it, there's no such thing as playing for carlton in '09 without being made to really earn your spot.

Reading between the lines, I'm pretty sure he was trying to say that he felt he wasn't being given a fair shot by the MC when he deserved it as opposed to thinking he shouldn't have to earn his spot in the side.

He can do all of that by tearing Melbourne a new arsehole when we play them, assuming he is in the side for that game.

In the meantime I'd like him to shut his mouth, put his head down and his arse up and prove to everyone he's AFL quality.

While I don't agree with airing your dirty laundry in public, this is a positive sign that he has a burning desire to succeed....

I can see him strengthening our defence and playing some good footy for us over a long period of time....

I think all the cards fell our way with Chris, and he is a good investment who just started to blossom as a footballer, the only way is up. 8)

Lets hope so Firearms it is up to him to make it happen - The honour of just being able to pull on a Carlton jumper and run out should be enough motivation for anyone.

..well, personally i've got no problems at all with how melbourne handled it.. ..and while i don't think too much yet of Bailey, i did like him making CJ the second stand in front of his ex team-mates and explain while he was leaving.. ..CJ2 coulda used that opportunity to say his peace.. ..instead of waiting for when he was safely recruited up by us..

Article didn't sound that bad to me IMO, maybe I'm missing something here.

Quote:
The 22-year-old said Carlton coach Brett Ratten had indicated he would play across half-back/wing.

I bet Ratten didn't make it sound quite like that.

He may play half-back/wing if he earn his spot, just like everyone else ... given the strength of our list compared to the Dees, he needs to put his head down. Good luck to him, he's been given an outstanding opportunity in a club on the rise.

Slow news days, didn't we have the same sort of beat ups over Hadley?

well i hope it was nothing more than a bad choice of words because if he thinks he is not going to be made to really earn his spot he's got another thing coming.

He might have seen guys picked before him that might not have earned a spot. Connolly publicly trashed him and now he has spoken his mind. Time to draw a line in the sand and move on.
