I can't wait to see how Jamison progresses this year. Maybe we can call him "Plug" as hopefully he'll be critical in stopping all the leaking...

As I've said before, this young man will be one of the games elite defenders in a couple of years, possibly All-Australian too.

I loved reading about his reasons for keeping his #40, shows that the boy's got a very level head on his shoulders.

Quote:
He has a new three-year deal after some stirring work in the back half. Further validation came in a phone call from football administration manager Shane O'Sullivan, asking if he wanted to trade his No. 40 for a smaller number.

Jamison declined the offer, saying keeping his guernsey would act as a reminder of where he had come from.

"I'm definitely going to stay with 40," he said. "I often speak to Andrew Carrazzo about his No. 44 and what it means to him. I think sticking with the numbers we've got is a constant reminder of where we have come from."

What I love about the young group we've got together now is their humility and professionalism, which will ensure long careers on all fronts. Not one FIGJAM among them.
Quote:
Jamison said the Blues were expecting to play finals football next season.

"If we don't do it next year, then it will be unacceptable," he said.

Yes, his comments about the #40 and in general were great to read - I enjoy watching him and know he will get better still

According to Libba, this is the bloke who didn't deserve a game that was promoted in order to tank  .

I agree with the comments on Jamo's maturity re #40. Good on him.

He has the potential to walk alongside the names of some great Carlton defenders. Can't wait to see his career develop. He's going to play in some very good teams.

Almost on a par with Bruce Doull when he asked for a higher number after being given number 4 - the story goes that his number was too close to John Nicholls locker (number 2) and the constant glare and attention of the media and cameras post game was too much for Bruce - he wanted a higher number away from that. He was given Number 11 and the rest is history.

If Michael Jamison ends up being half has good as Bruce he will end up in the AFL's Team of the 21st Century. 8)

Spot on AGRO- actually, Jammo reminds me of Doull. I was disappointed he didn't take Doull's #11 as it would have been a perfect fit. Otherwise, a great read and what a good head on young shoulders. 8)

I love Jamo. Good head on his shoulders and this article proves it.

Good luck in the Navy Blue [or is that subsilver2]?

I just keep falling deeper and deeper in love with him :-D

No doubt in my mind what-so-ever will be one of the league's best defender..

Jamo seems to agree >>>
