How many others on here watch old Cartlon games during the off season. I really miss the footy at this time of year, so I get out my old replay tapes ( more than 50 video's) that go back to the 82 final series. Its great to go back in time and see all those stars playing, not just in finals but the home and away games. Hopefully one day I'll work out how to transfer them on to dvd, as some of the tapes are starting to deteriorate, being over 25 years old. At the moment I'm watching the 84 season. Are there many others who do this or am I like my missus thinks, im a sad old bastard :? , Jeff

No raaf - I'm the same - although your collection sounds a bit better than mine!

Must be this time of year that I watch the great grand finals...even having the '79 one paused at that special Wayne Harmes moment and telling Collingwood supporters - (we've only just began letting them in the house after having the security system put in) - "Yep...that ball was out - shit...a mistake like that could cost someone a Grand Final one day..."

I don't wanna sound demeaning here - but honestly - if you're Gen Y and you haven't seen the '79, 81, 82, 87 and dare I say '95 Grand Finals (after all - Caleb Tiller was a 4 year old)...put them on your Christmas wish list. It's an easy present for Santa to get you...

..but if they're Gen.Y, aren't they just gonna question why they have to..?..

I can relate.....I had been wondering whether the club was considering putting out a DVD highlights package of our 2008 season- especially with a few memorable 2nd half comebacks this year, and with the development of our young stars on the rise..

Yep i do the same although my collection is pretty small. I've watched all of 2007/2008 wins about 3 times each and i have some old tapes from 95'...Rnd 21 in 1995 I can re-live over and over again it is the most emotions I have ever felt during a game...I can't believe my heart survived it!

Yeah Dr I bought the 87 grand final for $10 the other day I'll get around to watching that soon.

Same, I generally watch the seasons wins again. I watched our win over Wet toast in Perth again yesterday. Loved Murphy sticking up for Juddy..

Been doing the same, though sticking to this year's wins mainly at this stage.

Watched the Pies games twice each and most other wins once. Relieving the eagles win and Pies Round 12 was brilliant. Brought back fantastic memories of being there at those games.

I've got my 4 and half year old son madly supporting us, well he had no choice really lol. He's been watching Ballistic Blues and the '95 GF a lot lately, and on his own accord too. I tell ya, brings tears to my eyes

vs Collingwood round 12
vs Port Adelaide round 11

I need to get the round 12 win against the filth, but as already noted, it is tragic but this is what it is about being Carlton supporter.

I have a Panasonic DVD-recorder that can do it. You could probably pick one up for $500 or less now. It also has an inbuilt digital tuner for the telly (although not HD).

But any DVD-recorder with component inputs (most likely what would be coming from your VCR) should work.

The best part, getting to watch all 50 tapes again as they're being recorded.

ditto...

Won't it be nice when we don't have enough time over summer to watch the Blues victories from the previous season!
