In recent times players have changed to the extent that you can tell who gives their all for the club and who, well, may play in a style that would seem otherwise.........eg the following seemed to have given heart and soul to the club (not sure if it relates to their ability)

Wiggins
Delulio
Justin Murphy
Luke Osullivan
Franchina

Who else in recent time appears to really love the club and not think of dollars etc??

I would have said Setanta at some point...

...perhaps not anymore. Still plays with a lot of passion.

Carrazzo loves the club...I think Fev does too...but he does think of dollars.

Judd appears to be pretty happy here...

I can only really add Simpson...if he counts.

Waite?

No one of the Wiggins category, though...

Why did Justin Murphy end up playing for three clubs?

I think this concept is one of the biggest crocks in sport.

These guys are professional sportspeople - if they're passionate or hard they 'play for the jumper' and if you're abit softer they're disrespecting the jumper. Of course some players are going to be harder and / or talk with pride about the jumper but that says that the player is hard and committed.

At all levels of sport you're playing your best regardless of whether you're playing in a Collingwood guernsey or a Carlton one.

Peter Dean was a professional with courage. Full stop.

disagree Molsey, some players actually love the club they play for, others love their teammates, some don't care about the club when they retire and others do, Ang Christou is a great example of the opposite, last year I sat next to him at Koutas 'farewell' game - it was the first game that he had watched in years - he basically said that he doesn't really care about footy anymore.

Yes he enjoyed playing, but that doesn't mean he loved/loves the club.
