I think I will wait until I walk out the ground on Saturday with my family and looked back and reflect on the memories that I've had at OO since 1987... :( :( :(

Good work DB.

A memory that brings a tear to my eye is lining up along the fence in front of the Heatley Stand waiting for the final siren to declare the Blues victors again, or (very rarely) not.

The mad rush to catch the sweaty players before they headed down the race, and the thrill of looking eye to eye with the famous mosquito fleet (I think I was only 4ft tall at the time) Ashman, Sheldon, Marcou, Murphy (Frazer, that is) etc etc..

Footy has come a long way in 20 years, but boy, back then these are the things that made a loss bearable.

Awhile ago my wife and I were tooing and frowing about making the journey south for the last game. Money and kids being a factor in our decision making.
We thought what the heck and got the tickets and I was champing at the bit to get down there.
Time and recent results dulled my enthusiasm a little.
Today I read your article and once again I'm as toey as a roman sandle.
A great piece Dannyboy, thank-you.
Regards Pedro.

Didn't get time to read it at work, have just had a read now... beautiful Danny, you ably represent the bitter, twisted old souls such as myself who fondly remember the magic and beauty of AFL.

My lid is officially dipped :)

Beautiful Danny - I knew you would see the old girl off with one of your best.

Suspect there will be a few tears when the siren goes for the last time.

Dee Boy...........

if i had a glass eye..........!

it would be weeping..........!

kindest regards tommi

N.B. it's not actually the eye that weeps......it's
the tear duct that does the secreting.....!

and the eye (prosthesis) is made out of acrylic........not
glass at all........!

it's a monoma and poloma thing.........!

so the fact that i don't have a glass eye.....means
nothing at all........!

so what i should have said......IS.......

Hey Dee Boy........

your story brings a tear.....to my duct........!

kindest regards tommi

i like bananas..........!
