Who both payed for there own facilities and fit out with there own money than asking members for an extra $25 or pleading to Mr Pratt "please sir, can we have some more' |

And on cue the true colours are out in force again. Gosh I hanker for those days when we were a financial basket case and on the verge of oblivion just so we could look ourselves in the mirror and say "We didn't take Pratt's money" eh melvs? Geez, if only we black and red/white in our uniform, then we'd have nothing to be ashamed of. |

Geez, if only we black and red/white in our uniform, then we'd have nothing to be ashamed of. Unfortunatley for Melvey, John Wren's money is no longer available to prop up his beloved "Filth". It will be interesting to see how Collingwood is propped up in the future after it takes its financial hit from its failed hotel business ventures, Eddies inability to generate sponsorship dollars from the free plugs on The Footy Show. Gee Collingwood might have to make an impassioned plea from its members for money. ![]() ![]() |

When do you hear the pies or bombers asking there members for even more money to get what they want. I pay $500 for a social club membership where seats are subject to availability at the Dome or i have to sit with the general foe behinds the goal. How do we get looked after here?? When will our club get to a stage where it can survive on its own and develop a business plan other than turn to wealthy supporters and its members But yet we quick to stick the boot into other clubs who manage to do these things on there own through good management and planning You're all living in denial |

Take away the write downs they were on track to post close to a 4 million dollar profit. |

Both clubs are well run from top to bottom and no doubt we will get there i just prefer to be humble about it and not be laughed at like many of you |

Go back 1.5 years and see where we were. The facts are Collingwood and Essendon* both got funding from the state goverment...every club did... remember how they varied? |

Essendon* and Collingwood didn't just magically find their money, it all came from somewhere Melvey, ie members and sponsors. They may have used it to fund investments but it all came from sponsors and members originally. |

All this is is an attempt at keeping CFC's contribution to the redevelopment as low as possible. Can't see much coming from it in the current financial climate, but anything's a bonus.. |
