Crossisca has not been offered a new contract which I must say is surprising.

woof it's in the delistings thread in Recruitment where the Carlton players that have been axed. The part about Crosisca is at the base of the article.

Replaced by Lappin as assistant coach with Harvey replacing Lappin as development coach.

Don't know if you are close to any of the mods but Crosisca should be a separate topic otherwise I would not have posted it here.
By the way the stock market is back up.

Interesting that in his post-trade week interview on CFC TV, Ratten mentions that Lappin will look after the forward line.

That leaves O'Reilly and Montgomery to take the mids and backs, anyone know who's taking which group?

Actually woof I think it is lost under a delisting thread in recruitment. It warrants its own thread.

Maybe Caz, apart from pointing out that Woof couldn't find where the brief discussion of Crosisca was buried you could give us a view on his demise and the current policy of appointing coaches with no experience, preferably who have played for Carlton.

Does anyone know whether we scoured all of Australia to find the best possible assistant with the best communication and strategic skills. Having done that and of course coming up fortuitously with Lappo did we do the same to get the best possible development coach with the most apt experience and the best communication and teaching skills? Harves is a great bloke and was a super footballer. Is he the best possible development assistant?

I realise it is not popular to be critical of the club but too many of us (including me) weren't critical over the last 20 years as the club slowly slipped behind the rest of the league and went from the best most innovative club in the early 80s to a bloated dinosaur. We need to get the best of the best. Are we all convinced that this philosophy is behind all our coaching appointments?

No idea.....you seem to be telling the stories around here.

You keep throwing up conjecture and conspiracy theories so I presumed you knew all the answers about what was going on behind the scenes. Judging by what I read you have the vendettas and backstabbing theories down to a fine art.

I only watch 18 year old's run around. Nothing more, nothing less.

I leave the decision making to smart blokes like Swann and Icke. After all a smart bloke like Sir Richard got them on board to do just that.

Perhaps if you write to the club Swanny will provide a dot point list of the decision making process he went though. It couldn't hurt to ask.

Sorry Woof I just thought it was amusing 1st thing in the morning.

Cordy is apparently one of the best fitness blokes around- this is a crucial position I would have thought .

Ratten has obviously been selected for his ability to coach one would assume.

The assistants and development is about teaching kids to play footy and who better to teach them than ex footballers . Particulary ex footballers who have just left the game

As for the old boys club - I dont mind it. There is nothing better than working or being in an enviroment where people get on , and if those people all have the same goals and determination they are usually successful organisations . Nothing could be worse than the situation we had a few years back where everyone was kniving one another in the back . If Ratts surrounds himself with his mates , creates and environment where it is happy( remember a happy worker is a good worker) it will make it easier for new recruits to fit in and feel at home and therefore should reflect on there on field output .

Dont know about not having his contract renewed...According to a rumour from a source at Melbourne, Crosisca will be at Collingwood next season and has been fielding offers for a while, presume Melbourne didnt have the coin.
Crosisca a fair job while at Carlton and while Lappin deserves a chance to prove himself I would preferred another assistant who wasnt an ex Carlton player of recent years...
