Does anyone else find it slightly ironic that you need to be 'of good character' to hold a license to operate one of the most immoral little enterprises ever devised? Poker machines have gouged more money out of Australians than Visy's cosy little duopoly with Amcor could ever have. (damn you tb... beat me by 15 seconds!) |

Its a bit like shit house organisations having strict dress codes at work. "We wouldn't know if our arses were on fire, however, we look good, so our customers must respect us"... "Pokies, the are run by people of good character, so there must be some benefit to the community"... |

In an article a few years ago, Age columnist Kenneth Davidson described poker machines as "the most efficient method of taking money from poor people and giving it to rich people ever invented". |

Meanwhile clowns like Graham Samuel dismiss the insidious Safeway/Coles grip/control of the whole wholesale/retail food supply industry. |
