Given the great response to our latest quiz, we were thinking of putting together another quiz for the site to help over summer, but one focussed on the key elements of being a Carlton fan:

* How many Premierships?
* Who was our first Captain?
* Which Coaches have coached us to 3 Premierships?
* Why oh why did we trade for Stephen O'Reilly?

What do you, the common Carlton fan, expect other fans to know about the Club. What important bits of our history do you think should be common knowledge amongst us?

Happy for any suggestions, and will make a new quiz about them.

I don't know about you guys, but for us youngens who as it stands only became strong fans in the late 90's, the only thing we really give a damn about is:
1) the current playing list
2) stars over the past 20 years (Kouta, Kerna, Bradles.)
3) the recruiting techniques over the past 10 years (who we drafted national & PSD)
4) how we dug ourselves into a hole in early 00's
5) & how we got out of it.

simple really. If you want to get the interest of more young supporters, get them in with questions that they actually have a basic knowledge about.
Not saying the early history questions aren't good, but don't overdo it just to prove that you guys know more. :P

2: Is garthp a) an idiot, b) a troll c) a facial expression, or d) all of the above?

On a more serious note, these are the questions a true Carlton fan would know:

Where was Alex Jesaulenko born?
What was the crowd at the 1970 Grand Final?
What football club did Bruce Doull originally play for?
What was the name of John Nicolls' brother?

Generation Y strikes again! If it's not presented on a platter for us, we're not interested.

If its that time of year for Wiggins for PM posts and best of lists then it must mean its time for another quiz to fill the time.

Some time ago we asked users what knowledge would be expected from a Carlton fan. We've put this 25 question quiz taking questions from all 100+ years of our VFL/AFL history. There's a hell of a lot of successful history in there so some of your favourites might miss out, but have a go at this:

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-take_quiz.php?quizId=8

Given the subject matter we've asked for an 80% result to pass.

And Lowey - some of your questions have been utilised, although the Kryal Castle reference was removed by a sub-editor.

Some questions that missed the cut....

1. Who is Carlton's only 5-time Premiership Player (day / normal Premiers only)?

Great guess, but unfortunately McGregor missed out in 1907 because of a broken nose.

Quote:
By then nicknamed “Wee” (as in small – because of his slight build) McGregor cruelly missed the '07 flag victory due to a broken nose suffered in the last few minutes of Carlton’s semi-final win over St Kilda.

Incident involved Dorotich and Johnston and a prominent Melbourne Female TV Personality who was the wife at the time of a prominent Melbourne TV Weather Presenter.

She was in the back seat of a car with Johnston in Lygon St (or a nearby side street) and Dorotich was minding his own business - "preparing" for his turn so to speak.   when he was viewed by the local constabulary.
