Been reported on CSC that Edwards and Harts have signed one year deals??? That's a surprise given the fact that they didn't develop much this year. Makes options for delistings more limited. Is it a weak draft? Are we not expecting to draft many players?

Its a good draft from all reports

Hartts is worth persisting with but thats only if Ratts sees a forward line with Hartts a part of it or else we wasting our time. Over the preseason they need to work on a structure that includes him as i think he has the potential to be a very handy option with the right development.

Harts is yet to have an injury-free pre-season.

We still need an extra option up forward.

I know he's had injury but next year is his fifth season and he hasn't played 10 games. I would have thought if he was rated he would have had many more opportunities this year. I'm not sure why they didn't play him for the second half of the year and see if he was up to it rather than have him sit on the list for another year. Still i would expect him to get a lot of senior action in 09 otherwise you would question our list management.

Hartlett staying was one of JR's demands before he signed his 2 year deal

Harts has been disappointing IMO.....injuries or not.

Some players look as they could be anything....and he's one of them.....for me; the juries still out.

I am a fan of Harts and still think he has what it takes to make it. I just pray that he stays injury free for an extended period of time. When he came back for a couple of games against Sydney and Bulldogs he didn't quite get to the pace of the game but he was ignored so many times when in the clear and unfortunately just on the end of some terrible disposal which compounded his average game on the day.

If he was spotted up just a few of those times or on the end of reasonable disposal he may have gotten into the game a bit more. He really dropped his head in the dogs game and you could sense his confidence was shot.

I am happy for both to get a one year deal. Even Edwards showed a bit in his few games. The only problem with Jake is that it appears he really gets down on himself when he get bad news and I think that might be translating into his efforts for the Ants. He needs to suck it in and keep working hard. And he needs to do better when the ball hits the ground and we dont have possession

I don't know about these guys, you would think Hartlett would have cemented a spot by now but hasn't. I'm a bit worried who will be delisted now.

Saddington
Ackland (Contract is a worry)
Benjamin (even thou i reckon needs are 3rd year)Rookie at least
Blackwell
Jackson (He isn't to Bad,he is unlucky)
Asaike Ohailipin (Doesn't look like the club to me is interested)

Then if we want 6 picks either Bannister,Wiggins,Pfeiffer,Cloke but i reckon they keep them all but maybe trade Bentick while Browne or Armfield may give us that pick for Warnock with our pick. I also think Sydney may want a trade for Sentanta.

I would think it has a lot to do with depth. Beyond those two, what other forwards do we have? And let's spare a thought for the Bullants as well, who would have thought Teague needs to chip in with goals every now and then to win games.

I hope we target a couple of forwards in the Draft. We're already going to add a Ruckman, so a Forward becomes the next priority.

I think the MC has realised that there will probably not be a lot of good forwards available late in this draft and we may have to give away our second pick (24) for Warnock. So they sign Edwards and Hartlett for one more year as insurance possibly?

I am a fan of Harts as well. When in the ones he is often a victim of injury and our structure as he is of form. He can mark and he can kick, but we have to learn to work with him in the structure. We are still too Fev-centric.

I hope he did get a contract. Edwards too showed some signs, but I am more a fan of Hartlett.

If either were at the Magpies they would represent the second coming.... Harts and Edwards are certainly no worse than Rusling, Reid, Dawes and the rest of their overrated forwardline. We should give these guys some time.

Adelaide is a club which has made a habit of sticking with players and getting results. We dont have to chop guys at 21-22 for the hell of it.

You would think that if they really had signed it would have been announced last night along with Waite, Anderson and Russell.

We all don't want that but it might be the only way to get Warnock with that round 2 pick and Bower to me is a bit more Taller and attack that we need in defense. I reckon we should give Armfield first before Browne but don't like to lose him also but there are players similiar that can replace him Anderson,Jackson.

If it's true it's strange the club hasn't announcd it . I'll believe they have signed when that happens . I don't think we can afford to keep both .
