Yes he was great. The whole function was good and I was impressed that there were about 800 people attending. Money is pouring into the club....

It was about the 68 premiership with attendance of most of the team including Barassi. Current team also there and had the opportunity to have a chat with a few of them and others like Ashman.

Basically it is a fundraiser and a get together. Lots of business people of which a few were not Carlton supporters (taking clients out).

Money went in fast - there was an auction and a signed guernsey (team of the century) went for $16 K. Greg Lee (board member) bought a signed Lee Kernigan guitar for $6 K etc. etc. I was invited but think tickets were about $180 a head for lunch so lots of money raised......

Big John was mostly outside smoking, hitting on woman and telling stories about his greatness to all who wanted to listen....

PS: Everybody received a free DVD with the 68 GF. It went straight to the pool room.

I also attended the function & agree Ragsy Goolds speech was great, took the piss out of Fev & told the current squad to Flower the money & win a Premiership!

P.S even though Dick Pratt did not attend (ill) it was quite evident that he is still the President of the Club!

Great speech. The passion is palpable!

Give me 22 players with Goold's passion and we won't lose a game.

That should be posted on youtube.

Passion is synonymous with Carlton.

We're in the business of winning flags!
