simpson is a funny one, i can only recall one time where i've seen him stuff up a right foot kick. i've probably seen him use it 20-30 times and just about everytime the kick is spot on but for some reason he is very reluctant to use it and only does so if he can't wheel onto his left. i don't know what it is with lefties but you're right, very few are comfortable on their right, i'm just guessing it just must feel really awkward for them or something.

walker has been really god off his left since the start of last year and scotland is pretty much the same off both. murphy is usually pretty reliable on the left too and gibbs rarely ever uses it, he is almost always able to get his feet into position where he can use his right.

The famous story on this subject is how Bob Skilton won the World of Sport Champion Kick Award one year; kicking with his right (non preferred) foot.

Each heat (and Final) consisted of stab passing about 25 metres at a roughly 6 foot round target similar to an Archery target; complete with bullseye.

Then there was goalkicking and distance kicks; using both drop kicks and punt kicks.

At the Season end Final......Skilton had an injury to his left leg....so he kicked with his right.....and still won easily.....a freak talent.

Yeah.... .....remember Jack Dyer saying about Skilts....."He kicks just as well with either foot; but he's better on his left"........


Skilton would use Bruce Andrew's part in his hair to line up his stab kicks.
