That was for a long awaiting payback by Collingwood for giving them Harry Sullivan back in 1955 which at one stage he was regarded as the League best fullback ever.
Ray Byrne who ended up playing well over 100 superb games for them and to a lesser extend Russel Ohlsen who would have cost Carlton and won the 1979 Grand Final for Collingwood only for Trevor Keogh smashing into him to put him off his game for the rest of the match and not to mention also Ron O’Dwyer who was cleared to them back in 1959 and proved to be more than useful for them.
