As well as the matchday thread I thought over the next two weeks we could have a countdown to 100 thread for Fev!! No finals so it's now all about Fev

would you be upset if he kicked 10 tonight? I reckon I'd be conflicted about it. i have never seen a carlton player kick 100 goals. i'd be pissed if it happened and i wasn't at the game. I hope he kicks 9 tonight, which would mean we'd go close to winning, leaving just the 1 to get next week when i will be there. Not that i want to go running onto the field, just love to stand and applaud a supreme effort.

Ridiculous how humans talk themselves into believing that numbers like 100 are so special.

One more than 99. Big deal.

Some people would actually believe that kicking 99 goals is significantly not as good as kicking the ton.

Yes, it's fun people, because of the extra digit, and a super effort to kick that many, but we do become delusional at times like these, don't we?

And by the way, Hawthorn played Melbourne twice this year!

Now shoot me down.

So if a $50k bonus was on the line for 100 goals and 99 didn't cut it would you be saying the same thing?

or a chance to be only the 2nd player in Carlton History to ever kick the ton?

First thing's first....if Fevola kicks 5 he will equal Vallence's best ever record for the Blues and go into equal second on the all time Carlton best season list:

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-read_artic ... ticleId=77

While the focus is on 100, historically even getting to 97 or 98 is a wonderful achievement.

If I were the recipient of the $50k, of course it would matter. But monetary rewards are not the focus in this discussion.

Forget the ton, Fev needs 6 to become only the second Bluesman to have kicked 98 in a season.

The more goals kicked the better. Obviously.

The more goals kicked in a fairly structured competition the betterer.
