They only sponsor the best so maybe just maybe we're a chance. They've met with Melbourne and the Kangaroos but you could put a line through them. Richmond putting there case forward as they looking for sponsors next year

The head of of the company's Australian arm is a Melburnian if memory serves me correct, so he knows Aussie Rules.

Not going to get too excited, be will be interesting.

If it is us, not sure who they would replace from our existing sponsors.

They sponsor the likes of Chelsea football club, Ferrari formula 1 team, have sponsorship with a rugby team and a gaelic football team.

i think there was talk of Optus downgrading there sponsorship and might stay on as corporate support.

Word on the street is that he's a Carlton supporter too from memory.

well nothing less should be accepted from now on anyway, especially given the bummers are pushing to get 3 mil a year from 3.

About to take over the Telstra Dome naming rights.

Sunrise suggest that fans will brand the new name as un-Australian....

I think a North supporter...but they would want a 'blue chip ' club

Big talk about this company last year.. from within... but they decided to not fly to Melbourne.

Huge opportunity for Etihad..

Best thing is... the Oil rich companies arent broke...plenty to throw around ...

I would have thought that any corporate naming of a stadium is un-Australian, regardless of the company.

Before you tell me to get with the times how would people feel if the MCG became the 'American Express Arena'???

You would have to be concerned if someone manages to get Etihad over us, wouldn't you?... Given the Tiges recently got the AIG sponsorship - which I imagine was fairly lucrative, considering they also sponsor Man Utd in the EPL.

Is that the same AIG that had to be bailed out by the US taxpayers?
