It seems Interstate Members miss out once again (in QLD at least) on using our free game entitlements. It all means nothing now because I am not going to bother paying more to see this game, but at the time I specifically asked would I receive free admission to the QLD game and was told that I would, so I upgraded my membership for that.

Quote:
CFC: While you do have free General Admission entry woth your Long Distance membership, the barcode on your card only scans at the 2 Melbourne venues. This was discovered early this year, after the packages had been released. We will review it for next seson. What we were able to do for the Adelaide game, is provide members with a refund on ticekts purchased into the General Admission area. However, with the game at the Gabba you need a reserved seat which is the reason for the addtional cost.

Seems like the whole system is flowered this year as Carlton aren't even offering Qld members the opportunity to purchase tickets through a Carlton allocation...

Agreed Lowey!

I paid double what I normally do to upgrade to a full membership this year. My thought was this would help the Club rather than going for the cheaper Long Distance 5 option. Then to my horror I find out that purchasing through the Carlton allocation has gone, and I now have to pay full price to enter the game.

When I said to the Carlton membership Dept - well what is my incentive to buy the more expensive membership, their answer was, well there isn't one and next year you should buy the cheap membership

So there you have it folks... to sit with the Carlton people at the Brisbane game will cost me $50... and all because I gave the club extra membership money this year

Im with you guys....bloody let down badly....

I used to buy a Blue membership every year till I found out it didnt actually go towards the membership tally count. ( thought I was helping the club out...but was let down when it didnt really count ) .

So I upgraded a few years ago to interstate mshp ...and was let down to the fact that I was entitled to FREE entry to HOME games......( lot of bloody good that does me living in Brisbane )...but had to pay normal price to watch a game when / or if the boys played up here .
OK let down again...

So they email me a survey...one thing I clearly express in my comments...was about the BAD deal we and others get interstate and what is the incentive to keep signing up ?

So this year...all looks good.. interstae 5 mship gets you into free entry up to 5 home or AWAY games...

Im thinking...now this is good , they are finally listening to the mass voices out there ..and its all good ...

So we play up in Brizvegas ONCE this year rnd 21 ....ok its something...sometimes we have NONE played up here...

Alright... I get sent a form to fill out for getting some seats for the game...
But I still have PAY..????@@##$&**&^^%$ for ONE game...

Ok ..ive settled down ..and its only $11.00 each..not bad im thinking...

I send my form in to MY BELOVED FOOTBALL CLUB .....and I get an email saying to call them as there isnt any more seats in that area..and now I have to pay $30+ dollars for still average seats...so I htink me and the missus are paying $64.00 to go and see my ONE game.

And if we went to the pre- match function , the girl in memship ( I wont mention her name..its not her fault .. and they must cop heaps...)..said it was going to be another $70.00 on top of that ??????????

Now our public transport to and from games at the Gabba are free anyway (bus and train ) if you have a ticket .. so theres no extra from the club there.

Whew , feels good to get that off my chest...sorry for the rambling folks...
Im just a very let down CFC paid member ...

P.S. Ive been following the blues since 1979...and this is dissapointing.

STEPHEN KERNAHAN... WHAT are YOU going to do to fix this next year .

really sorry to go off track but i didn't want to make a new thread, i just have a question re: the hawks game.

because flowerheads afl scheduled the game for TD, it'll definitely be a sell out given fev and franklin could potentially crack the ton together. i need about 6 or 7 seats (all next to each other) and 3 of us have silver memberships and the rest want to pre-purchase reseerved tickets. the ones with silver memberships also want to upgrade to reserved seating (i think it turns out a bit cheaper if you're a member).

now firstly, where can we buy these tickets from (i cant find any info on ticketmaster and ticketek websites, do i have to ring them or go to what's new?)

and secondly, is it worth taking this risk in case the afl might use some common sense and make this game at the mcg and make the north-port game at the TD?

if i did buy my tickets and then later it was scheduled to play at the 'G, would we all get refunds?

any info would be appreciated.

TrueQldBlue - that is the exact same situation I had. I had the Blue membership until I heard it didnt count towards the numbers, so upgraded. I specially asked the membership dept if the free home and away games included the gabba - they said yes at the start of the year, and then it all changed when I went to organise for tickets.

I, my wife and a couple friends are not going to bother going now.

I am however going to the Hawks v Carlton game - down on hols with the wife and brother in law coming who is a hawks supporter.

I fully expect to be let down getting tickets for that game too.

Shattered. I must have been let down by Carlton's great membership database once again as I didn't get a form this year...
