...Fev will most likely still break his own record for goals kicked in a season by an individual Blue, and notch another year in the best 5 years by a Carlton player for goals kicked in a year:

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php? ... n+a+Season

As most of you know, only one Blue has ever cracked the ton but in a historical context Fevola's 2008 will still be right up there.

Oh you meant ton as in goals and not pages on contract negotiation threads.

My bad. 8)

Um...

Didn't Soapy Vallence get 86 goals in 1931? If so, why isn't that on the list? :?

Good point thehalford, but the list is on home & away goals. Vallence kicked 86 in 1931 and 97 in 1932, but on the back of outstanding finals matches with finals goals of 11 in the Semi 1931 and also 11 in the Preliminary 1932.

One day in the near future we hope to be comparing goals in seasons again, including finals, but over the last few years our eyes would be lowered to just the end of the season....

Ah right, gotcha. Thought it may have had something to do with that but couldn't be sure. Cheers :)

If that list is only for home & away , shouldn't Jezza just be on 100 as he kicked 15 goals in three finals?????

That is a bit rough on Soapy, considering they had 18 round seasons in those days.

Good point, but we do highlight in that page how many games each player took to knock up those wonderful records. Perhaps we should add a column for average goals per game?

I like, I do also think that the whole season should be counted including finals. I mean if someone brings up the ton in a final the crowd still run.

He needs 5 goals every game for the next 5 games. Can he do it?
He can turn it on against any team, even the Crows so it’s not beyond him. I’m DEFINITELY going to the dawks game!

Could have 2 guys bring up the 100 in one game, has that ever happened before?

I think Buddy will have his 100th before Rd 22. Brisbane, Richmond, West Coast are their next 3. That game against the Eagles smacks of double figures for Buddy.

We've been through the records and augmented this page to bring out the finals v home & away performances and on this basis it looks like Fevola's 80 from 18 games is right up there; at least in the top 10 performances by a Blue over our history with 4 games still to go.

Fev'a average of 4.4 a game is also pretty special in a historical context.

Fev's AVG's against the next 4 opponents.

PORT - 2.66 goals.

NORTH - 4 goals

LIONS - 2.54 goals

HAWKS - 4 goals.

Fev's AVG's at the grounds.

GABBA - 0.57 goals
DOME - 3.38 goals.

Fev's AVG' this year

80 Goals from 18 games = 4.4 goals.

Interesting to note thou that we haven't played North or Hawthorn all year, Brisbane he kicked 5 but only managed 2 against Port.

Gonna be tough, but i reckon he can do it provided we deliver it to him correctly.

I think in the era of Hudson/Wade/Mckenna/Jezza it might have happened.
Not in recent times. About two years ago, thepundits were saying the era of 100 goal FF was over due to the flood etc.
Funny thing, that. At one stage they were saying Fev, Buddy and Bradshaw were all a show this year. If Buddy decides to kick straight one of these weeks he's going to get an even dozen and Fev had a haul of 6-5 recently so he could easliy get 10 on a good day. Trouble is the opposition. We will be hard pressed to win against Hawthorn and Brisbane. Port maybe and we haven't beaten North for an eon so I think Fev will be up against it.
There is always the possibility that if the Rd22 game against Hawthorn isn't critical to their final 4 position, win or lose, that they will rest some players or protect them against injury for the finals. In that case we might get an unlikely win and Fev might kick a bag. On the other hand, if they need to win by 100 points to pip the Dogs for second place, we might be in for a tough night. In that case Fev mighn't get too many shots.
I'm sure Fev won't want to be going into Rd 22 needing about 6 for the ton... It might upset the team goals if the players want to get him to 100. The answer is to get there by Rd 21 :-D

That article answers the question about two people kicking 100+ in recent history. Jezza kicked 100+ and didn't win the Coleman that year.
