We HAVE to play Hampson so that at least we get a contest at the stoppages, centre bounces etc.......Every week we get absolutely killed in this area. As much ac Cloke tries his heart out he is just to undersized and we can't expect alot from Kuezer just yet |

i'd even have a look at Sammy Jacobs, wasn't to bad for the ants yesterday, not sure if he would be much fit, but cloke just battled today |

It is an interesting point. Hampson will struggle as well as it takes time for rucks. Do we trade for another ruck? |

At least to me, Jacobs looks like a big-bodied sort of kid who could compete against the big blokes. |

Nobody on our list will provide a solution to our ruck crisis. Not this year and not next year. How much do you want to win the ruck? I thought we did alright against a strong ruck duo. Hampson is good but up and down in his intensity. We will be thrashed in ruck regardless of who is in. Right or wrong, players get judged by their worst, not their best. And at the moment, Cloke's worst is better than Hampson's who, while having all the attributes of a dominant ruck, goes missing during games. |

Just sayin' ![]() Don't want Brogan. Will come with a big price tag and a short future. Would like to see us play Jacobs so a call can be made on his future. Hammer spent most of his time in the magoos yesterday on the forwardline. Had a quiet one. Sauce was good and maybe deserves a shot. Cloke needs a week or two in the VFL. Kruezer maybe as well. |

Just sayin' ![]() Said this, just like I mentioned Steven King trade time last year. Shot down as usual. "Not part of our future, short-term, too many rucks". Sure we have a lot of ruckmen right now - but name one experienced, hardened, built ruckman that can take the bulk of the pressure off the rest. We don't have one. A 2-3 year prospect, big $$$s or otherwise will pay for himself by taking the pressure off Kruezer, Cloke and Co. Give the kids some time to develop. Mind you, I realise this entire post will be ignored... ![]() |

In a quick straw poll - anybody here have any idea whether Aisake will be retained by the club?! I never found out the whole story about his pre-season indescretions/falling out with the club... Once again. No response. I'm of the opinion now that my posts get skipped over. Guess I shouldn't be surprised anymore. |

The fact is, the boys need help. Kreuz and Hammer can (and hopefully will) become elite ruckman in a few years, but at this stage they shouldn't have to compete against the monsters of the league (Cox, Sandilands, Lade/Brogan, Jolly) every time they run on to the field. Right now, they're second-string rucks, but they've had to play like first-string rucks so far in their short careers. Cloke tries his guts out, and doesn't get intimidated, but physically he can't compete either. Getting a ready-made, experience, big-bodied ruckman (who may be within 2-3 years of the end of his career) could be invaluable for the boys' development. In 2-3 years time, when said player retires, hopefully Kreuz and Hammer will have developed to be able to then take on that role, rather than praying that by then their bodies aren't shot to hell. So yes, I definitely see the value in pursuing a ruckman during the trading period. |
