I head a report that Rivers & Robbo wont be playing, Neitz is doubtfull and Miller is still suspended!

All 4 of them have been vital to Melbourne this year so all 4 will be very much missed.
Rivers out means either Fevola or Lance will have less pressure.
Nietz out means Livo can't claim that win anymore!
Yze is really their only forward threat..........which i think Teauge will beat easily!
Carrazzo will hopefully be back to stop Davey.
& Chambers is a possibility!

Things looking up........?Or am i getting ahead of myself?

Probably, but given the way we have been playing lately Melb could put in thier Little League team and we still struggle to get over the line.

I'd say you are getting ahead of yourself, as we can't expect all our opponents to have four of their best players out every week.

If we were to win this Sat'dee I want it to be because of improvement in our side and not because our opponent was weakened by injury & suspension.

I did say in another thread i didnt want us to win again this season, but i guess 1 more won't hurt - for the history of the club i guess we have to win.
A win means 3 and a half - Hopefully collingwood can pull off a couple

WE STILL WONT WIN! our confidence is down, no talent bar Stevo, Campo, Skinny, Kouta and T-bird and we are slow.

Why dont you want to win again this year..... do you like feeling depressed each weekend. Or do you want draft picks?

West Coast now there's a team doing great with no real draft concessions..... although I think they picked up a bloke called Chris something at number 3 a few years ago.......

if we leave Optus with a pasting that is a blight that can never be removed from our history. Damn it I want to win this game against a team thats own supporters who thought it was all too hard and voted to merge with someone else. I hate this mob nearly as much as Essendon*

What about Green and Bruce may be back..

If Carrazzo back will have the run in the legs to keep up with Davey ?

No easy games for us this year...

Yes, i don't like it either.

But in saying that, i can understand where he is coming from. It is a frustrating option.
Some would say bite our tounges, push pride aside and go for the picks which we very much need.
But i know quite a few Carlton supporters who would still take a win even if we were on 5 wins for the year at round 22!

why will Robinson be out?

Apparently Robbo did his knee and will be subject to a fitness test later this week.

Bruce could be back but much like Robbo, needs to be tested.

Carrazzo did a nice number on Davey in the Wizard Cup! Kept up with him all day!

Not saying it's going to be an easy game. But i am saying that with those players out it should free up Fev and Whitnall down forward, easen the burdden on Thornton and Teauge down back and quite possibly aid in Kouta not having to stay in the midfield in order for us to get the ball out of there!

Not sure on the progress of Chambers, but if he's fit enough bring him in and drop Scotland.

You obviously don't have a realistic opinion on how good a player Adam Yze is. :?

You obviously don't have any faith in how damaging David Teauge can be to a player such as Yze. It's his job, it's what his there for and i have full faith in Teauge that he can beat him on the day.
He did win our B&F last year. Isn't that realistic enough?

And yes, i am well aware of the talent of Yze.

Whats its matter who is and who is out....I posted the following on the CSC site. The way I feel even if we win it wont be satisfying because its just a short term deflection from our real problems and I will have to endure more threads about comebacks, we can still make the finals, and so called positives....rah rah rah etc etc etc..Some might like to delude themselves but we are back to square one when Pagan took over...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Normally we would win because its a emotional farewell to Optus game and all teams lift as we saw Essendon* do for Sheedy but the result doesnt matter to me...its more about player development and the next couple of years. Sure we win and wallpaper a few cracks and then the elite teams shake the foundations and the wallpaper falls off and we are back to square one again. I would rather we play some more newbies than swap more deck chairs on the titanic...Morell, Prendagast ..whats it matter?...ditto Bowyer for Mcgrath etc etc etc..its about Blackwell, Russell,Raso Sentanta, Hartlett etc taking us to the promised land rather than being stuck in the wilderness with a team of average players being swapped week in and week out in some desperate attempt to appease the supporter base, media and sponsors....

It does matter who is in and who is out because with those type of players out we have a better chance of NOT GETTING DONE BY 50+ points! LOL.

But you bring up a good point there Elwood.

There is alot of talk about perhaps 'Tanking' the season to take advantage of the early draft picks. Some people think this is our most important plan for the rest of the season and other don't. Each to their own i guess, but i'm with you.

Drop the likes of Johnson, Prendagast, Bowyer, Bentick, Scotland and ect, ect and bring in the Kids ie, Davies, Walker, Russell, Hartlett (although injured) Blackwell, and just leave them on. Give them as much game time as possible.
If we are going to get done by 50+points again, at least we are giving game time experience to the players that will hopefully be leading us into the next era at the club.

Like your thinking....
Ryan, your last couple of paragraphs made more sense than the majority of posts I have read all year from the entire forum...hopefully the MC and coach think the same...

I think that's what most people are trying to say.

Play the kids, let them get experience at senior level and then reap the benefits at the end of the year while also having the kids benefit in the long run.

No one is saying for the players to go out there and not have a dip.
