Post subject:  Ratten's reasonings.....................!

After reading a fair bit of TC over the past few weeks (enjoying a nice holiday) it is always very interesting to read peoples opinions on players, set up, team plans etc.

The point is that no matter what any of us think it is not going to make a difference to what happens at the club. One thing I always try and do is look at it from the other persons point of view.

In this case what is Rattens reasoning with his decisions regarding the below mentioned areas? What is his thinking? He is obviously intelligent and has a good football brain, certainly was a fantastic player.

I will be lucky enough to be in the rooms this weekend and always enjoy watching what goes on. So I though this would be a good opportunity to get opinions on what Ratten is doing in certain areas.

I get the impression that the MC have hit development mode for the rest of the year.

I have listed certain players/areas and have written what I think Ratten is doing, what do you think?

Russell Of the opinion his development was stunted under Pagan and is giving him every opportunity to grow.

Cloke Stop gap solution until others develop. Not mobile enough for CHF.

Carrazzo Trying to find another position since Judd has come to club

AndersonEasying him into senior football after injury problems

AustinDevelopment player who will be given time and opportunities for rest of the year. Future 200 game CHB.

KruezerWay ahead of schedule, goal was 75% of games this year.

Fisher Genuine forward only, attacks ball well, hard match up.

HampsonDeveloping, being patient. Long term project.

Bentick Had doubts at start of year but takes pressure off Judd. Needs to work hard.

Forward struture Real concern. Happy with structure but need to use it better

Fevola Genuine matchwinner who we need. Have backed fully but have been let down over past few weeks with on field attitude. Cracks developing?

Hartlett Required player, treading carefully, not prepared to play until fully fit. Required player who could be answer at CHF.

Browne Talented player who is in development year.

Pfieffer Skills a worry

Setanta Just don't know, seen as a forward?

Aisake On the outer

Skills Real issue when we have ball, we work hard to get ball but butcher it, needs to be addressed trade week and pre season.

Houlihan ?

Betts talented and great user of ball, need to get more involved

Grigg developing well, left footers are handy

Armfield a favourite, great pick up

Rucks Need a mature body in 2009

Judd Has been amazing

Stevens Been good, would like more leadership and consistency

Opinions, any others?

Damn you CJ

Can't really argue with any of that, but I'm sure someone will. 8)

You will just have to be patient. You've built it, now wait for them to come.

While you are in the rooms, can you smack JR in the back of the head and tell him not to think, JUST DO!

Good assumption I guess.

Have a great time fella.

Where's Edwards?

The only excuses and reasons I have for Edwards not grabbing hold of his chances is youth and our mids constantly looking for Fevola.

It must be hard being a leading forward when Fev is the man.

Collingwood's forward structure is better and they're used to sharing the load.

How else does Anthony kick four goals when he was recruited as a tall defender? :?

Blue Ice

Please feel free to add anything you want. I really could of kept going.

I agree with the forward line comment, however it would be ingnorant of us to think they are not trying to do something about it!

What I am essentially looking for is Rattens reason not ours.

I don't agree with all that ,judd has been good, not amazing, maybe him being on the ground to other players, have made the players learn and play better.

I still have to say his no way the player he was for the Eagles but it's only 1 year since moving and having a operation so he can't play 4 good Quarters yet.

I like to see Hartlett make it but i think it's slipping away from him. The others looks o.k,can't see Carrazoo there if we end up getting Daniel Kerr and Cloke if Hampson makes it soon or we get a ready made Ruckmen like Brogan cheap.

I'm a bit surprised Pfieffer skills are not too good being a first round pick
