Is Carlton a friendly place to be if you are Irish?

Homesickness was the primary reason listed. His decision is immediate.

Yes, good luck and all the platitudes.

BUT WHY???

How many other clubs have had an Irish recruit skip back to the home country mid season?

not many .... if any.

There are a few clubs out there with Irish recruits who seem to be doing very well, Sydney, Brisbane, Collingwood.

We have one guy on his way home, Aisake seemingly in the sin bin and Setanta now with questions marks.

I know it is fodder for conspiracy theorists but Shield, Aisake and Setanta.

Is there smoke? Is there fire?

Anyone in the know care to shed a light on our Irish dilemna?

come back colin corkery?

Kennelly today hinting strongly that we have a problem with how we manage our Irish recruits.

http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/news/k ... 59432.html

He gives plus marks to Sydney, Brisbane and Collingwood, then:

Kennelly said even those players that were now well ensconced in the AFL system had "been going through some issues and it's not all been rosy for them".

We know he talks to Setanta and probably talked to Shields too. Is it just me or does our footy department lack neceesary people skills to handle these guys? Would like to think of our club as a welcoming one. We are going to get a bad name over in Ireland from this. Club needs to stop the rot asap and manage the PR.

If it smells like shit and looks like shit, well the old Dad and Dave joke tells you that all you need to confirm is that it tastes like SHIT.

What is going on at the Carlton Football Club.??

No bullshit, tell it like it really is???

:-D

no offence guys but from a cork point of view Shields is a very very welcome re-addition. Was MOM for Cork in All Ireland final IMO so naturally i'm delighted he's returning.

I'd say thanks for trying, but he should be saying 'thanks for giving me a go',

enjoy life back at home playing in an amateur comp.

Jars, I am not sure if you are trying to be funny, but if it was about Carlton he would try and get to another club.

Stynes made it cos he put the hard work in for years before making it in the seniors.

This generation seems a little different.

Perhaps we can now look at recruiting an Aussie kid with the same physical attributes.
