From The Age: Things look up for Andrew Carazzo I thought this bit - Quote: Football is unsentimental. Far from appreciating Carrazzo's years of manful toil in a mostly unavailing cause, a cruel but clever appraisal of the Blues' list that did the email rounds earlier this year noted simply: "Carrazzo is Italian for turnover." A mate sent it to him the day it appeared. - actually appeared here. I love this: Quote: Carrazzo rejoices simply to be playing for Carlton, the club he has loved since childhood, the club he watched every week as a young teenager and member, wearing Steve Silvagni's number on his back and thrilling also to the exploits of Greg Williams. "I thought Brett Ratten was pretty good, too," he said, "but saying so now would look like I was sucking up to him."
Carrazzo said he thought merely pulling on the Blues' guernsey made him a 5% better player. "I will probably barrack for Carlton, no matter what happens in my career, for the rest of my life," he said. It's a good article and shows that young Carrots has a good head on his shoulders. Now, how about that NRS.........? |

It was a great article. He knows who he is and where he is at. He isn't under any illusion about what his role is and speaks extremely well - very articulate. There wasn't a yeah or nah in that article anywhere. |

When I worked as a Primary School teacher, he came to the school and talked to the grade 6s about leadership and good citizenship. The kids were agog, he had them captivated. He then rolled up his slacks and flexed his calf muscles and suddenly I felt very inadequate. |

This bloke cops a lot of grief for his disposal and decision making at times... but to his credit he has changed his game to a small defenders role and done it well in my opinion, whilst still getting a fair bit of the footy. Good on you Carrots! |

This is fantastic. Our kids are in demand by the media for 'good stories'. This is not the first of the many 'good' stories we've read in the printed media this year...and it's not all about Judd. Why? DUC wrote Quote: He knows who he is and where he is at. He isn't under any illusion about what his role is and speaks extremely well - very articulate.
We have quality people on our side. We have removed the cancers which were holding us back. We are the Old and New Navy Blues. Go get 'em Carrots...you've proven everyone of your doubters wrong and you're a true Blue. |

I am one who believes his kicking isn't as bad anymore... I rarely see him turn it over badly like he used to. Good on ya Carrots for improving the weakest part of your game. |

Every time I see this thread I think it's called "things to look up for Carrots". I'm expecting to open the thread and see a list of questions that Carrots wants answered. |

He is a very good mop of the ball in the backline but not the type you put on Steven Milne (a quick and skillball goal kicker). Dont judge Carrazzo on tonights performance. Yes he was given a bath by Milne but go back over the past fe seasons and find a Carlton player who Milne hasn't towled up. |

If he isnt a defender he is nothing. I think he is one of our bettter options as a back pocket. Started with the blues there and did quite well and this season has done well. BAd Essendon* game and bad tonight. Thats all i can remember. He will be devestated by tonight and will work as hard as he can to try and stop it happening again. |

I love Carrots. I rate him - I rate him very highly. I rate him even more highly for brushing off the TC and other posters who continually knock him, ignore his outstanding contributions, or even suggest he is just a marginal player. What a top bloke. He has in spades qualities I appreciate in footballers - footy nous, ability to get the ball with the head down, intelligence both on and off the field, humility, and true leadership qualities. Much like his coach in fact. And he is Carlton through and through - like the old days. Thankfully our match committee understand this all well. He is integral to our side, will play 200+ games and (in time) become one of our favourite sons. P.S. Carrots - hope your mate sends this post to you - Carrazzo is Italian for real class. |
