Blues eye share of coast gold Quote: CARLTON has had discussions with the AFL about playing a game on the Gold Coast in 2009.
The Blues, however, would only entertain a game at Carrara — which could be expected to reap the club $400,000 — in exchange for one of its home games at Telstra Dome. |

This shits me though: Quote: The Blues recently drew 38,675 to their round eight game against the Brisbane Lions, but it is understood to have received only modest returns from that game — a fraction of what anchor tenant Essendon* and Collingwood would receive for the same turnout.
"Oh it will be in Carlton's best interests to go to Telstra Dome, the AFL will reward us with gold and riches!!" Bullcrap. |

I hope the club move there home games to the G and somehow manage to negotiate a social club area like the pies have on the second level. That would be special. Come on Pratty make this happen |

Would be very happy to lose a TD game to carrara for $400k. We have as much chance of winning there than at TD. Might be a good excuse for a trip to the Gold Coast. |

It tends to highlight again how we got shafted with the TD deal. ![]() A big challenge and a priority for Swanny to get us the @#$%&! out of the current arrangement with TD ASAP!!! |

No doubt this deal to play games at the GC, will result in his eminence Mr Collo re-evaluating the initial deal and making a more attractive offer to the club to stay at the Dome without extending the length of the agreement. |

F&$% me dead, some people at the Club are so narrow-minded. No doubt the payoff for playing games up there will be less away travelling? So, once again, no Sydney matches, most likely. Plus, why on earth would we want to give up HOME matches? We're at a development point in our cycle that we need to play teams on our terms whenever and wherever possible, and going to the GC isn't that. Totally stupid idea. |

Hey KK as I previously posted, this might be a ploy by the club to get into a better bargaining position with the Dome. |

All of them. I'm sure everyone knows my views on the shunning of the largest market in the country in favour of smaller ones, so I won't repeat that here, but it's a perennial thing. |
