Outstanding effort considering his body shape and the fearless nature in which he plays his footy.

Simmo = pound for pound the best player in the AFL. Love his courage and endeavor.

Massive respect for Simmo, in all regards. As a footballer, on-field leader and as a reminder that not all that happened 8-9 years ago was a complete write-off.

His consecutive games record typifies his character. Thank you!

One would have thought 100 Carlton games for Judd might deserve a mention.

Can't see Thornton getting there this year. It will be a big effort if he does and good on him but I think his days are numbered.

In a story of triumph and tragedy, Robert James (Bob) Green carved out a fine senior career with the Blues, and was among Carlton’s best players in the 1938 drought-breaking Premiership victory over South Melbourne. But just four years after the last of his 187 matches at Princes Park, he was tragically killed when he was run down by a car while attempting to board a tram near his home.

Bret will equal Bob Greens record of 187 senior games in Guernsey #32 this week.

Congratulations Thornton...

Trivia: Which current Blues also have a guernsey games record?
