Kade Simpson's performance as Captain for a few weeks in the dark days should never be forgotten. He has (literally) punched above his weight his whole career.

If only every player matched the physical and aerobic courage Kade shows week in week out.

Congratulations Kade.

I love Simmo as a player - hard and fast and a shining light whilst we were getting pummelled.

But a question for the Blueseum and an open question for everyone:

1. Is Simmo the only player in Carlton history to play three games without a stat?

AND

2. I note Ratten's 50th game as coach is comingup in Round 22, 2009. When do we judge a Coach - like a player, after 3 or 4 seasons...or earlier?

Ratten is doing fine. leave the man alone his 2nd year as a full time coach. Who are we richmond? start blaming the coach for what we cant achieve

I'm sure there'd be a number of Carlton players who have played three games without getting a possession, especially way back when.

James Cook had two, plus two one possession games and four 2 possession games. He then had two more nil possession games playing for other clubs.

Funnily enough that was going to be my point, I was just waiting for someone to announce how bad a Coach he was and then pounce on them with supreme logic about how judging <50 games is unfair.

So he's coached 40 games right, 40 games of senior level footy. This makes him roughly somewhere between Bower and Russell

Simmo comes from my hometown, which is a remarkable feat in itself because it's mostly filled with dope smokers or teenage mothers. I too have watched his last few games with interest because his athleticism is remarkable, namely I think one time he took possession of the ball as he leaped over an opponent who had fallen over in front of him.

What a great player Simpson has been, he came in the draft that we lost our picks. Who would we rather have, Him or Wells?

ps Keep an eye out for the chance that Murphy kicks his 49th and 50th goals of his career tonight as well, a big milestone for a young player.

He would join Simpson and Stevens as bringing up their 50th goals (Stevens in Carlton colours only) in 2009.

Congratulations Marc Murphy on kicking your 50th and 51st goal in only your 73rd match - your goal-kicking prowess is really coming through.

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php? ... %2C%202009

by way of comparison, Judd kicked his 50th in his 45th match for the Eagles. Simmo's just managed his 50th in Carlton colours.

Congratulations to Nick Stevens for bringing up your 100th in Navy Blue - well done on getting your name on the locker.

Will play his 100th in 2010, barring injury!

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php? ... Milestones

Well, Stevo's 100th might be the last milestone for the year, except for Ratten's 50th as Coach coming up in Round 22.

Other milestones are close but might need some finals action, or changes in team selection;

* Carrazzo is sitting on 95 games
* Fisher is sitting on 98 games
* Jamison is a couple of games away from breaking PLunkett's record of games worn in #40.

73 games already for Murph! ..time flies ....it was just the other day that that dog Copeland busted his shoulder.

Very high expectations for Murph next year.

Well, well, welll...

Playing in finals increases the chances for some Blues to hit some milestones this year, including an intriguing race to 100 games for Betts, Carrazzo and Fisher:

Plus Thornton's 150th will be a big match for a Blue having a stellar year.

I don't think Fisher will get to play his 100th for Carlton. I think the forward line is working better without him and we would if anything be trying our rucks as forwards to create mismatches if we can - I cant see Fisher getting a game again this year barring injury.

With Betts' suspension, his 100th will be delayed. As it stands both Thornton (150) and Carrazzo (100) need a win tomorrow night to bring up their milestones in Season 2009. Betts would need the Grand Final at this stage...

Well Blueseum, I'd add one more potential milestone to that list.

Kade Simpson.

If all goes to plan, not only will Simpson be captain Round 3 2010, he will also be playing his 100th consecutive H&A game for the Blues!
