Post subject:  The Justin Cordy Appreciation Thread

Just a thread to acknowledge the seemingly great work of the club's High Performance Manager.

In charge of a staff of five (we only had one person in our fitness 'staff' in 2007), and former high performance manager for the Australian cricket team.

The Blues have had a lot of great players from Bendigo, now we can add fitness managers because Justin is a Bendigo boy.

Also, the instigator of the HTFU award started at the club this year.

Just have a look at Carlton's last quarter scores over the last five weeks.

6.1
7.3
8.4
6.5
7.4

They are the results of a really fit team.

34.15 against 19.14 in the last five weeks in last quarters. The last quarter has been our best quarter this year for the entire season (averagein 110%).

Thanks.

No doubt he's played a BIG part in our improvement. Just imagine what he'll be able to accomplish when given a full pre-season. I've mentioned before about how much I'd love for him to be interviewed, and to share some of his thoughts and plans with the supporters. It'd be great for next season to know what he's got planned for the boys when 08's done and dusted.

I think it's important to note that WIGGINS contributed directly to no fewer than three goals in the last quarter.

He got a bagging by one or two on here early in the season if I remember correctly so its great that his methods are having the desired affect.

I remember some posters (like Abaddon) saying "Cordy's not doing his job", "they're unfit" blah blah blah

And then some posters said that Cordy's only been in the job for a short time and the players are coming off a weak fitness base.

Where are you Cordy naysayers now?...

If Cordy was associated with them, then that's good enough for me. But it makes sense people were dissing him. Bloody Aussie haters.

Now now Mr C - if we were to 'out' every person who screwed up their assumptions about Carlton - in general - we would be 'outing':

*Cordy-bashers
*Wiggins-bashers
*Bannister-bashers
*Russell-bashers
*Ratten-bashers
*Stevens-bashers
*Thornton-bashers
*Waite-bashers

et.al.

So, if you care to do a search for all those who doubted Cordy, maybe you can also find time to do a search to find those who doubted the above-named...

If he's so good, why isn't he ever mentioned in the stat sheets or match reports?

The fitness of the team is the best I think it's been for a decade. The ability to play out a match is a huge part of our success so far and the base for the self-belief.

Top work!

We were way behind other clubs for the first few rounds for whatever reasons and dropped some games we probably should've won which might cost us a finals spot but we've really come on now which is giving the boys a lot of confidence.

Exactly :-D

Like to see him get some miles in Betts over the pre season so he can play more midfield. Has the ability to be a very good on baller.
