Blues plan to revamp Princes Park

Little bit of news regarding the redevelopment of PP.

Has anyone seen the plans??? the realfooty website has a tiny pic of the sketches, but not shown in the actual article.

Interesting, looks like the Gardiner Stand is not going to be demolished.

IIRC the Social Club stand was not going to be demolished, but it now seems set to be.

Would be interesting to see what the plans look like now, it sounds quite different to what was proposed to start construction about 4 or 5 months ago.

the initial cost for the redevelopment was around 12 million. Me thinks Pratts parting gift to the blues will be a even bigger and better traing/admin facility than first planned ala Alan Scott who built the power there training facility.

All makes for some nice reading. Now we are back on our feet we need to move upwards and this is a great long term strategy for doing so.

good get W! well done...the old outdoor pool etc is being kept?...and I think the cafe/shop could have more profile as it appears buried at the end of a groovy corridor....it needs to be seen from Royal Pde.

Mind you I like the size of the "Club Image"

Not sure if it's smaller, but 'smorgy land' was massive, so maybe that's what you could be comparing against. Certainly it's smaller than 'smorgy land'

I think this is stage one - also there are 2 levels - on one of the attachments on the site, it shows a sports hall as part of stage 2 subject to approval.

The new design is very boxy compared to the previous design.

I hope the mural is a silhouette of Jezza taking that screamer in the 1970 GF. Then again, perhaps a silhoutte of Harmes lunging for the ball with his fist clenched punching the ball back into play, is even better.

The mural on the current plans looks to Jack Dyerish for me.

Don't see any room there for a physical Blueseum.

Perhaps, now that the historic Gardiner stand is being kept after all it might be the ideal building in which to house the Blueseum?

Apparently the Pratt stand will also be demolished to open up the ground for local patrons. I'd say a bronze statue of Pratt at the entrance would be a good substitution for a stand :-D

The pratt stand is to stay. The smorgy land plans had planned to demolish it.... gee i wonder why
