A Tribute to the Pies.

I just thought before we go into Round 13, l just thought l should pay a tribute to the Pies. I didn't think it would be in good taste, just after Sundays loss to the blues :).

It goes a bit like this:

2006

In 2006 when the Blues were broke, the Pies were there:

The great man that all Pies fans look up to for guidance in the crowd is a perfect example of the pie supporter population.

But, in 2006-07, Joffa was there, wearing a Carlton jumper to support the club he always admired for being able to win premierships and not finish 2nd a million times :)

Carlton Thanks you

2007

2007 Round 7 - Collingwood 119 Carlton 95
2007 Round 18 - Collingwood 120 Carlton 96

In our tanking days, you helped us out by actually winning to ensure the Kruzer Cup, which allowed the blues to pick up the Juddernaut for basically nothing. We couldn't of done it without you winning.

Carlton Thanks you

2008

Round 4
Carlton after their tank in 2007, ended up having a 14 game losing streak.

Guess who was there to help us break it, the Pies.

Carlton 111
Collingwood 88

Carlton Thanks you

Round 12

For the 1st time in years, Carlton had a chance to go into the 8 midway thru a season.

They had to beat Pies to go into the 8.

Carlton 119
Collingwood 89

And the Pies were once again there for Carlton's journey to the flag..

Carlton Thanks You.

And the good news is that Carlton will more then likely win the next flag before the Pies.

Blues 2008

Pass this tribute on to as many pies fans as you like :P

Carn the blues

lol

i had fun sending this post around to the rest of the office :P

and how do they reply :)

You must be proud of a club that wins every now and again. A team that cheated to win a grand final and when its incompetent management runs the club into debt it goes begging for a million dollars. Not sure why your corrupt president didn't just run a few more price fixing schemes to raise the funds.

With such tradition at the club I would be proud to wear the navy blue jumper or is it the pure white jumper or the m & m jumper??

I look forward to the family day where toilets are not supplied because as we have seen the club is happy for people just to urinate in public.

good luck for the rest of 2008.

cheers

They just dont know how to take a TRIBUTE :P

How rude! You were genuinely thanking them! I would even say the Blues are indebted to the Pies. Can't take a compliment can they?

Three players for Judd is hardly "basically nothing".

Forgot to include Army in that statement.

A better scenario will be Pies 5th (just misses out on top 4 through bad luck) and the Blues finish 8th (just sneaks into the 8 through good luck) and we play them first week of finals and dare I say it, beat them a 3rd time and knock them out.

That would be the ultimate...

Beware they may do an Essendon* of 2001 to avoid playing us. Maybe deliberately lose a game to finish 6th :-D

That would still be a win for us which means it's a...WIN WIN! :-D

I'd also like to thank them for making up the numbers in 1938,1970,1979 & 1981.

I'd like to thank them for losing those two flags recently so's I didn't have to leave the country.

I'd also like to thank them for drafting Dale Thomas. It means I still have 100% strike rate being able to determine a kid going to Collingwood purely on his looks, or as we call it his "Collingwood Head"
