Pros:
The game was not covered live on the telly.

Cons:
Lost to these clown twice.
Lets so many goals in late.
People quick to shitcan our players when the same blokes have been good the last few weeks.

Ummmmm....let me get back to you....

CON:
To be considered any sort of chance at making finals, we MUST win matches where we're favourites. To not do that shows we're still not there yet.
I F&@$%&g HATE losing to those bastards!!

After losing today, and the Tiges winning yesterday, hopefully it will put some steel into the guys to show that the wins against Port and Collingwood weren't abberations.
We can come back strong, and no doubt the media will be talking Richmond up all week, and they will probably believe the hype.

PROS:

Showed some fighting spirit in essentially one quarter by hitting the lead even though playing sh!thouse

CONS:

Some of our deficiencies were exposed - ruck and lack of CHF
Insipid display by the entire on-ball group. The lack of intensity and passion. Getting way ahead of ourselves! Losing to the scum twice!

"Catch up footy takes its toll". The boys read their own publicity this week, and came out playing lazy football in the first quarter. And we can't expect top reel in the opposition every week.

PROS (there aren't many)

1. Armfield - keeps having a dip

2. Wiggins - presents a lot better than many others

3. Betts - played well

4. Fev - but a bit deflating that nobody else can score a goal.

5. dunno

CONS

1. Midfield - We got monstered. We were arrogant! No defensive midfielders today. Because we have no ruckman, you can't afford to not have one negative midfield matchup, and we paid the price. It was as if Ratten said - "Juddy, Murph and Stevo - you'll kill em, just run amok". Wrong! 13 clearances to 3 in the first quarter. GAME OVER! ARROGANT!

2. Ruck - Hille killed us. We had nobody to go up with him even though kreuzer shows a lot for the future. And our midfielders were going one way which aggravated the problem.

3. Carrazo's clangers - destroyed us early

4. Forward line - Been in the CONS for 13 weeks running. We are a one trick pony and its gonna destroy us. My brother reckons we need to play a gmae without Fev once to see if anyone else can kick 3-4 goals. Our setup is a joke. Just bang it to Fev.

5. Stevo - I reckon he's lazy - one way player (forget the possesions, I know he had a lot, but his man is always first to the ball)

Many more cons today but I don't have room.

We didn't respect our opponents today and paid - especially in the midfield!

Another con - upsets are nice and fun. But it's more important to win the games you're expected to win. We have a team that should've won today, and it's disappointing.

In a our wins the last 2 weeks were the underdog and came out fighting.

Today we were favourites and thought that that was enough.

They will learn a valuable lesson today and that is not to think your shite does not stink and that footy is played over 4 qtrs and not a cameo here and there.

The consistent thing for mine last night was a lack of concentration and awareness in the midfield in regards to defensive play.

One thing that bugs me in particular is how we approach a contested ball on the ground: five of our blokes get involved in the immediate contest to say (at most) Essendon*'s three. Unfortunately it's not simple maths in such a situation, in fact more bodies makes it even more difficult to scramble the ball out because no one's in space. So if the dons get the ball, they have two blokes in space without an opponent (see Lovett's goals), and if we win the ball, we handball it to another guy who's hot and he gets gobbled up immediately or releases a disposal under pressure, which usually ends in a turnover. This is how you play footy when you're tired, not five minutes into a match, and it staggers me how a team which lacks that elite level of pace doesn't position more players to receive in space.

Further to that, we over-commit numbers to marking contests, forward runs, and more. Other sides send maybe 2 into a marking contest to our 4, and their smalls crumb and kick a goal/clear the ball, or we run off our opponents to crowd our own half-forward line and if there's a slight skill error trying thread the needle to a target, they usually have up to 3 free on the rebound.

Other teams recognise this crap and game plan around it. So we stream forward, the midfield opponents zone off and shut down all our lead targets, well the ones we don't crowd out or push wide on our own.

What needs to be stressed on the training track and in the team/player talks is that some blokes just need to sit back in midfield unless a huge opportunity opens up, and let the forwards and select midfielders push forward in numbers, so that way we can actually react defensively in the midfield when there's a turnover. That way we have blokes who could actually drop back in time or pressure the blokes streaming down the corridor, instead of leaving all the work up to defenders one-on-one because the modern game isn't heavily weighted in their favour.

That's just my observation anyway, right or wrong.

You could almost use that again.

Pro: Now we know we can't play man on man footy.

Inept performance by the men in the box.

Pro's

Fev's 7 goals and ripper from the boundary in last - Imagine if had been "on" in the first Q

Armfield keeps on presenting

Thought Simmo played OK for most of the game - gave us a lot of run

Eddie's cameo when in the middle - I think in the third

I though Carlos nullified Lucas for most of the game forcing him wide. (Acknowledge the error when he flew in the last leaving Lucas to walk into open goal)

Cons:

1st Q - meant we had to burn all our tickets just to get it back to even then appeared to think it was won

No midfield or forward line defensive pressure - they rebounded out so easily all game.

Fisher, Carrots, Judd, Russell, Waite, Grigg and others all well below their best for most of the game

Flower Scum - no team I hate more - I'd rather lose to Collingwood

Have to go to work tomorrow and face up to a Scum supporting Flower of a bloke boss - FLOWER.
