According to the HS' "Confidential": Quote: CARLTON goalkicking wiz Brendan Fevola fell off the wagon on Sunday night to celebrate his eight goals in the Blues heroic win against Collingwood.
Fevola had a few drinks at the Star Bar in South Melbourne and was seen at 2.30am yesterday outside the popular hot spot for footballers. Joining Fev were teammates Cameron Cloke and Eddie Betts. Fev swore off the drink in March after being caught on camera urinating outside Candy Bar in Prahran. Eight goals and the great win were obviously good enough reason to break the self-imposed ban. It's clear that Fev did not get into trouble, but if he starts going out late and drinking its quite predictable that a) his form will suffer and b) he will stuff up again.... His promise not to go out for drinks during the season for the rest of his career did not last long. |

surprised they didn't report on what he was drinking, could have been water? ![]() Not sure how reliable this article is, shame if he was out that late though |

As I posted in his player thread, his continual drinking has been widely reported, so there is no shock there. If he was out late until 2.30am on Monday morning so be it, but if he was late to recovery session a few hours later, then it really plays into our hands come contract time. |

Not to concerned at this - his problem has been excessive drinking which doesn't seem to have been the issue here at all. And also can someone please provide a quote of Brendan saying he had sworn off alcohol, as far as i know it was an article stating sources close to brendan had said he sworn off alcohol. As far as i know he has never stated he swore off alcohol and has actually dismissed those reports. |

The dude isn't in prison. He can socialise and go out with friend/team mates to celebrate such a big win. Lets just say he did have a beer or two, nothing wrong with that, as long as he doesn't get drunk. |

I thought he has said he'd given up the grog (or words to that effect), was it on Hutchy's ambush interview on TFS? |

As long as he controls himself and/or surrounds himself with the right people and/or gets home at a reasonable time, I have no problem with this, but he must keep everything in check. Everything in control and start showing some resposibility. |

I don't ever think Fev has been quoted as saying he's given up the booze or given up going out. That was something written by the HS from memory & if I am correct the article had no direct quotes from Fev. As long as he does this sort of stuff in moderation who the hell cares? |

Fev's a smart man. You'd hope he could control himself. We'll need him up and about come finals, let's just hope he can contain his joy, and his urine. ![]() |

Fev said when he "gets on the sauce" he gets into trouble so committed himself to avoiding that. He never said he was abstaining completely (in fact said that he'd still enjoy a quiet beer or two) despite anything Mark Robinson may have dreamed up. |

I don't think Fev's all that smart. If Fev was a smart man, we wouldn't feel the need to be concerned. History, I think, proves that. |
