Having seen the replay of Sunday's game a couple of times now, with its many shots of Ratten and Malthouse, I couldnt help but notice that while Malthouse uses a headphone set to communicate to his runners etc, Ratten uses an old-style black telephone. Does anyone know if this is his personal preference, a lack of funds at Carlton, or just a case of the two MCG coaching boxes having different equipment? |

For mine, it just looks like Salty Malty is trying hard to look like an American NFL coach. Who cares what equipment's used, as long as the right messages get through to the bench and players? |

I think Ratts gets more input from his assistants than sooky la la, so I would take it to mean that Ratts can probably hear them more without having to take the headset on and off. It's easier to pick up the phone and when he cracks it with a passage of play, its better to smash the phone and a headset. Makes for better release of frustration. ![]() |

![]() Quote: Rats with a taste for fibre optics have affected important telecom links between the Indian capital, Delhi, and the commercial hub of Bombay.
Telecom officials say the rodents, lured partly by the smell of optical fibre, are nibbling away at underground cables connecting Delhi and Bombay. http://images.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=http://news.bbc.co.uk/olmedia/775000/images/_779483_india_rats_300.jpg&imgrefurl=http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/779483.stm&h=120&w=300&sz=12&hl=en&start=73&um=1&tbnid=ut1GDyB_MXbs2M:&tbnh=46&tbnw=116&prev=/images%3Fq%3Drat%2Btelephone%2Bpic%26start%3D60%26ndsp%3D20%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN ![]() |
