Did anyone notice Ratts barracking in the last quarter. After one of the goals he clearly pumped his fists and said "Go Blues" Gotta love that!!! |

Yeah, and he knocked his water bottle over in the process and let out an "OHHHH SHIT" with a little grin looking at Mark Riley I think. What a classic ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Watching on TV, his passion in the box was fantastic... Never really seen a coach 'barracking" in the box before, but he was loving it !! His emotion when Fev kicked that goal in the square whilst on the ground was priceless... You can just see the passion he has for the CFC... Sticks was just as pumped up too !! ![]() |

His reactions when Murph should have nailed that intercept goal in the first quarter was perfect in-the-outer behaviour as well. ![]() |

Brief interview with Mark Reilly on SEN this morning. He and Ratts were both assistants at Melbourne. When asked if it was obvious then that Ratts would be a senior coach one day, Reilly answered by saying what was obvious was how passionate Ratts was about Carlton, and that he had blue blood coursing through his veins! |

yeah that was awesome.... he basically said it in-time with the rest of us ![]() certainly much more pleasant for lip-readers than Travis Cloke's performance after nailing that goal... calling Santy over to tell him about it... He was calling Santy "dumb" and then inviting him to an event next tuesday |

The last few weeks with the kids standing up and the whole team playing with heart and never giving up, confirm more than anything else... Pagan = The Lost Years of the Carlton Football Club |

Pagan = The Lost Years of the Carlton Football Club Too easy to blame pagan - he was the right man at the wrong time. He had the worst list by a mile and he made the tough calls on some guys that were never going to make it - and churned the list until the cream came out on top. I doubt that anyone could have done better. In those circumstances. |

RATTEN - MR SOLUTION i made this before, but Ratten is gonna win us a premiership. When carlton needed to not allow teams scoring injury time goals, he came up with the solution When carlton had a defensive issue, he came up with the solution When carlton had a tackling issue, he came up with the solution When carlton had a hardness to the ball issue, he came up with the solution When carlton had a momentum against issue, he came up with the solution and now When carlton had a fitness issue, he came up with the solution the guy speaks only truth, speaks from both the head and heart, and speaks success. GREATEST RECRUIT |

Pagan = The Lost Years of the Carlton Football Club The players during that period that he burned are Carlton's own "Stolen Generation". |

Look at other clubs who have had lists with high draft picks. St Kilda is the obvious comparison. Now, there is a club which has burnt out good young players in some mad rush to use them to plug gaps you could drive a road train through. In contrast, Pagan brought on the kids slowly, and exposed them in a number of ways to senior AFL footy. This exposure is actually starting to reap some rewards, with GIBBS really finding his feet, Murph doing magical things, and others like JR and Bower really finding their place. I'm not saying that Pagan was good for the club in the period he was here, but I don't think it can be reasonably argued that he "burnt" players. |

Gibbs and Murph were always going to be stars, it's the Grigg, Bower, Russel, Jamo etc players that need the support that Pagan was so clearly lacking. I would bet that Ratts has been to more Bullants games since being assistant and head coach than the 5 odd years that Pagan was here. You need to support and encourage young kids to help them find their feet and learn the craft in the big time. Untill Ratts became head coach players like Russel and Bower were to scared and timid to play to their potential and were dragged everytime they make a mistake rather than given the oppertunity to make amends, this is what killed the development of our kids along with Pagan not even knowing half the names of the kids that he didn't rate. |
