Can't wait to take his bummers apart this week  .
we're gonna get the #1 draft pick thing come up all over the joint. Here's the thing, we've got 5 rookies and even more PSD picks playing yesterday. Not to mention the 4th and 5th rounders. Rookies Carrotts Thornton Jammo AB Setant PSD Cloke Eddie Stevo 
They had Fraser - #1 Didak - #3 Show pony - #2 Squib - #4 Their problem is their depth. If they keep working on it, who knows, they might be an okay side..... with time  .

All of a sudden these jokers are going to realize that all the fun they have had bagging us for 6 years is going to bite them on the bum - when they realize that we have 40,000 members and that 80,000 people just dont turn up to the MCG to see The Filth. Then they are going to start having to do some research into our lesser lights like Denis Armfield and have to start working out that Russell is his surname not his first name. 
Connolly hasn't been the most vitriolic of the media over the past 6 years - but he has enjoyed sticking the boots in on more than one occassion - will certainly enjoy a bit of payback this week.

Not back quite yet! There will still be some ups and downs and we have a hard run home. But the future looks bright! The improving depth in our list excites me. Add a few more draft picks and maybe another 'big fish' and the next couple of years will be enjoyable. |

I have known Connolly for a while and I can tell you he has a great admiration for Carlton even though he supports Essendon* and finds it hard to acknowledge at times.

The respect has been beaten into him. He use to cane us when we were challenging Essendon*, and then again when we went through our drought. Now his mob are struggling, it would seem like sour grapes if he didn't jump on board. |

The recent comments made by Williams and Malthouse along the lines of Carlton being blessed with No. 1 or high draft picks has been laughable to me. At the very least Conolly in this article has been able to assess our improved performances more objectively: Quote: Gutsy efforts all, with contributions coming across the board. Scotland and Cloke were Collingwood cast-offs, the midfielder traded for a No. 35 draft pick, the ruckman picked up by the Blues at the pre-season draft. Best-and-fairest winner Andrew Carrazzo was a rookie, Adam Bentick, Bret Thornton and Simon Wiggins hardly blue-chip stock, either. IMO The blues wins this season have not been based on the sole performance of our "large" no. of high draft picks but more as a result of a collective improvement of the team across the board. The fact that we have a few high draft pick players who are in the process of becomming stars is a moot point. As we all know, just because you take a player early in the draft that does not guarantee you success. |
