I have been very critical of Jordan Russell however hic last 2 months have been a vast improvement and he is finally showing he belongs not only as the 20th or 22nd player in the team but he is an important contributor and able to rotate through the midfield or play across halfback. His disposal and decision making has improved vastly and he appears to have really put his head down over the summer. Like many of his young team-mates he still has a lot of work to do but he is certainly on the right track and i look forward to see him eventually play in finals.
I believe it is only fair that if you bag a player you also acknowledge their good work and apologise when you are wrong. So please accept my apology

"Don't judge yesterday on the standards of today".

Has strung a few quarters together now. Good stuff. Onwards and upwards to 200 games.

Good today, he was. Practically forced his excel cell into the "seniors" on my PC

headcutter, i admire you for coming out and admitting you were wrong. takes guts to do that but there's still plenty more out there who are in the same boat you are in, only you've been man enough to accept you were wrong, and who knows god forbid maybe in time you might be proven right (in which case you'll be proven wrong for thinking he was good enough to make it now :? )

Yeah, i posted in another thread that i thought he played well today again. Good on him. Keep it up JR.

I'm not asking him to set the world on fire and become Judd Mark II..... i'd just like to see some consistancy from him....... and it looks like we are! :-)

I came on here tonight looking to do exactly the same thing then I spotted this thread. Credit where it is due, well done Jordan. He has developed a real aggression and a sense of urgency about his game. Well worth his spot in the team ATM

18 possessions at 89% effectiveness - highest effectiveness of any of our players this week.

JR is one person who has really benefitted from the confidence of the last few weeks.

I never thought of JR as a really good Carlton player as I have seen him being inconsistent too many times.

I am not trying to be negative as I really think he has improved during the last two weeks and hope he continues his good form. But I would like to still reserve my opinion after a few more rounds.

I must say though, when he is good, he is very good. On current form, one of the best 22 no doubt.

Takes a lot of courage to do that - well done.

I hope there are a lot more with courage about JR, but also AB - he has also been outstanding.

Don't post much, but feel that I need to congratulate JR on his past few weeks. I too have thought JR wouldn't cut it. He still makes some pretty glaring errors, but he puts in and tries his guts out to make up for them. He is hard at the ball and never shirks an issue. While we need our stars, we need guys like him who continue to put in and lift the team. His last quarters have been superb.

He certainly looked more confident on the park...

(but he really needs to add depth and power to his short handpasses)

Have you noticed how Santy's little measured kicks nearly always hit the targets (I'm talking about those little weighted ones that look like a guy who has to think about a kick it rather than instinct)

Well done guys i am finally glad to see people who can give credit where it is due, there is not enough of it on this site.

JR is getting better and better it is all about confidence and the fact that he is not worried about losing his spot every week. Bentick is getting better too he impressed me with his strength on Sunday he always seems to break tackles and get his arms free.

Ohailpin too is another that is getting better with confidence, I LOVE his passion and aggression.

There are similar improvers in the 'Ants - most encouraging.
