Bentick (what did he show to-nite) - Showed he could have a career as a carpenter he spent that much time on the bench.

Betts (bit part player small forwards dont win flags) - Only played 7 games. Is part of our future, a star in the making.

Blackwell (see Bentick) - Well Blackwell hasn't played, so I'm not sure where you are coming from here?

Bowyer (tough, committed, slow, skilled not) - GONE. Agree.

Bryan (nup) - GONE. Although give him a few games anyway to see what he is like.

Campo (turning 30 and sh@t) - GONE. Unfortunately has lost his attacking insitincts that made him a damaging player. Cheap kick getter these days.

Carrots (Ok but kicking ??) - How we missed him the past two weeks. Definately has a future.

Chambers (fumbles) - Agree, but can kick goals and has pace and good disposal. Good flanking option.

Clarke (cant get a game in ones kicking poor) - GONE. Bloke in row 20 will get more passes from Clarke than his team mates. Great bloke and tries his arse off though.

Davies (talented but is he committed) - Has the hard edge and talent but again Pagan plays him on and off the bench too much.

Deluca (needs time, may make it) - GONE. Another one year wonder, can only play forward and provides no headaches for opposition coaches.

Fev (Champion but) - Champion $400k + Incentives next year.

Fish (gun) - How we have missed him.

French (thank god we got him, but 29) - Enough said

Hartlett (giver him a chance) - Please come back from injury quickly. Will replace Deluca by end of year.

Houlihan (ok) - Improved agan this year. Great kick, but just needs to remove the lstupid occassional errors from his game.

Johnson (poor kick, too slow) - GONE. Bentick preferred.

Kouta (33) - GONE. Retire end of year please. Club legend.

Lappo (good but 29) - Star player.

Livo (I like but can he keep fit??) - Will make it.

Longmuir (go home, Demons and Freo already seen the light) - GONE. Agree

McGrath (best role is tagging) - Agree

Morrell (we need big men and cant get a game) - GONE

Karl (talent yes, brain power no) - GONE. Has 14 games to prove his worth.

Prenda (just makes it number 22 in best 22) - GONE. Gone backwards considerably this year.

Raso (must stay) - N/A

Russell (give him a game) - Must be played on the field n the seniors. What is there to lose?

Scotland (where to now) - Will be there in five years still.

Simo (will make it) - Will make it, if Pagan gives him four quarters of footy.

Sporn (how may years do we give him) - GONE. Trade bait otherwise delist.

Stevo (Gun) - Next Captain

Teague (Gun but to small for the role he plays) - Inspirational

T - Bird (gun) - Star Backman

Waite (kicking ???? one bbq does not make a summer) - Superstar in making, kicking may be bad, but takes marks and kicks goals.

Walker (just stand next to Ablett)) - Only young, will be a star come 21/22.

Lance (????????) - GONE. Lance it is time to go.

Wiggo (heart yes, talent no) - GONE. Exactly.

So thats Wiggins, Lance, Longmuir, Camporeale, Bryan, Norman, Sporn, Predergast, Morrell, Johnson, Deluca, Bannister, Bowyer and Clarke GONE from the list from my view point.

It may only be eight games into the season, but we are already out of finals contention. The past two weeks were the games we had to win, and a majority of the players listed above have failed in some capacity when we had to perform.

I have to agree with your thoughts above mjonc but the question i ask is: have we improved from 2002? At the end of that year we had to get rid of at least 15, this year according to your list we need to get rid of 14-15.
Why do we insist on getting TLO types?

Im unfortunately getting the feeling that we NEED to get a priority pick this year and position ourselves for the PSD. With some big contracts ending this year, armed with some leverage from the PSD and early draft picks we can get going in the right direction. Who can refuse another Stevens and two more Walkers? Its time to swallow our pride Carlton.
Our pride has been our undoing over the last few years, lets not finish 11th and get nothing.

Pagan just has to play the kids and teach them. I'm confident the results will not be much worse than they currently are.

Second years blues is what has hit Carlton this year, the real capabilities of the second chance players we selected have shone. They just are not up to it. No more quick fixes, as you said CJ, priority picks is what it is about.
