young Grigg is becoming quite an impressive footballer. I remember the brew ha ha on here when we drafted him. Why didn't we get Hislop? What about Houli? Why did we take Hampson and then miss out on Jetta?

Truth is I'd take young Shaun over any of the Essendon* lads right now. Hislop hasn't done much, same goes for Jetta, and Houli racks up possessions but doesn't really hurt with them. In contrast, Grigg is sure with his hands, and seems to confidently and quietly do a job for us every week.

Nice interview Mike and Dan!

His last 2-3 weeks have been very consistant and impressive.

Still say he'll earn a rising star nom (backing myself up from last years bet of him winning it :? )

No he wont. The rising star does not recognise one percenters like his great tap out of the pack, only the truly great awards like Mike and Dans POTW acknowledge these great selfless acts.

I predict he will be a 200+ gamer. He could be a Martin Pike type for us, but with brains.

We were lucky enough to talk to Grigg early in 2007 about his year and he mentioned that when he & Gibbs were in the same team, and one of them kicked a goal (Gibbs kicked a goal on debut), then they were going to do a stupid act to commemorate it called the Up & Down Potato (Grigg's own words). Later in the year, Gibbs kicked a goal with Grigg out there and Grigg sought him out but the moment was lost in time forever. Since then the Up & Down Potato appears to have died off.

Yet the uniqueness of the title remains. :-D

Gotta say it's a good feeling seeing a player wearing no. 16 for Carlton that I can like again!
