agree, can't believe the media are giving him the time to air his opinions - Wayne how about you let us know how to avoid going to jail, that would be something you can advise the public on.

If he hates the limelight so much why is he making comments to the media?

Get over it.

We all stuff up and make mistakes. You just learn to forgive and forget

Why should the one of the best players to have played this game become insignificant but yet we have to read the opinions and the dribble that pour's from the likes Mark Robinson, Patrick Smith and Hutchy's mouths week in week out.

I'd listen to Wayne Carey's thoughts on our game before those mentioned above

Dare I say QFT - but the Duck is still a tosser.

Jesus christ, what is everyone's problem? He isn't the best bloke by a long stretch, but he is an AFL great and has a better understanding of the game than most - and he appraised one of our young players. This has nothing to do with Wayne Carey, what he did on the field or what he does off it - aside from the fact that he praised Marc Murphy.

I'm pretty happy with this endorsement. Considering how conservative he was with his praise -

"You've got Jonathan Brown and Chris Judd and not many others, maybe Kerr.

Now, all of a sudden, there's Franklin, Ablett, Fev's having a pretty good year, and Brown and Juddy, of course.

And I really enjoyed watching (Carlton's) Marc Murphy the other night. I thought he was brilliant (against Port Adelaide)."

The fact that he's talking about truly elite players - ie; Brown & Judd - and singles out Murphy is quite the compliment IMO. Not to mention, we got three out seven players mentioned there ;)

.0001 out of 10 you are missing my point, why should we care what this dick thinks?

"he is an AFL Great"

SO WHAT!

We don't need this flower to tell us how great Murphy is, we know what a courageous, skillfull and talented player he is already.

And WOW he mentioned Judd as being one of the greats, what an insight that is

Ditto................. complete tosser of the highest order and his opion to me is equal to a pile of crap......... useless and smelly to the point of avoiding completely.

I lost total faith in him when he shit-caned our list and said that Pagan was doing a great job, it was the players letting us down.................... NEWSFLASH FOR YA flower...................... MURPHY WAS PART OF THAT LIST THAT YOU SHIT-CANNED!

Where's an Emoticon giving the finger when you need it!

Ooh, ouchies, ".0001 out of 10", a reduction of 9.9999 from my username in other words - clever!

Why should we care what this dick thinks? Because he probably knows more about AFL than anyone on this board :?: It isn't as though we are receiving counsel from him on who to play where or who to delist, he is simply praising Murphy. Do you have a problem with our players being recognised AFL-wide and getting the praise they deserve? Like him or not, Carey knows his stuff. If he was coming out every fortnight with these sort of articles, desperate for attention, then I'd be less inclined to listen, but this is something of a rarity - Carey in the news for matters relating to football.

EDIT - should note that Carey's support of Pagan directly contradict the statement "Carey knows his stuff" - but oh well

..ppl outside of carlton are slowly starting to realise his ability, beyond that of any given #1 pick.. ..it's just that ppl like Sheeds and Carey obviously know what they're on about when it comes to the game (if nothing else), and can see enough already that they're willing to stake their footy credibility on it.. ..and regardless of whether you actually respect the person, their knowledge of footy should be respected.. ..sheeds mentioned murph unlucky to miss out on vic team, and carey now mentioning him in the same story about the games current top players.. ..it's a big endorsement, considering murph's so young, and only played about 2yrs worth of afl footy for a team thats slowly making up lost ground..

..there's a lot of reasons why the bummers list is crapola, sheedy is to blame for some, not all though.. ..but that doesn't detract from his ability to see murph's rise before most have (outside of carlton)..

Get used to clubs chasing our players as there is going to be a lot more of this play.

As for Roos trying to snare Murphy

They are hack club, with a hack coach, hack president, hack list, hack board that can't get 30 k crowds to a game.

Yeah right ! Murphy is going to want to leave Carlton with all the up side including playing with Judd.

Also I would be surprised for us to lose good players while Swan and Pratt are in charge.
