That FEAR-y kind of smell?! http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl/story/0,26576,23844598-19742,00.html It warms my heart to read... "FOR half a decade rivals mocked Carlton's dramatic fall from grace. Now that the Blues are on the verge of a youth-led resurgence, it seems those clubs are less than happy about the draft picks gained during those dark years." I relish the notion of listening to the whining and moaning for the next 8 or 10 years. When the boys are climbing those temporary stairs to pick up Number 17, Number 18 (and hopefully more), part of the joy will be remembering how the AFL and the other 15 clubs (as well as their supporters) were quite merrily pushing our heads down as we were trying to get back into the boat! P.S. Just as an aside to the penalty thing: I wonder when the AFL are going to give Greg Williams his 9 weeks back? Apparently Hawthorn's captain is allowed have a nice old chat with the umps, put his arm around them and "The AFL has no issue" with it (despite their "strictness" on player-umpire contact) and the ump in question "actually enjoyed the moment"!!! ![]() |

Sour grapes from Williams. The other clubs conspired to make sure Carlton were penalised almost to the point of extinction. You reap what you sow. |

Williams is simply a flower, and just as well since he is also a flower. Extremely uncouth, but he doesn't deserve any better from me. |

Guaranteed them a flag pretty much. Pity for them they are habitual chokers and dropped their bundle in ’01, ’02, ’03… ![]() |

That has to be the most idiotic, pathetic, hopelessly stupid thing anyone has ever said. Instead of being greedy we should've forfeited our draft picks? ![]() |

Not because it was nasty, but because it was so accurate. |
