To the TC Community members with their fingers on the pulse.

Campo was reported this past week as being on "$620,000".

Has he been on this figure for a few years? Three, four?

What is the total gross figure of his current contract which expires this year?

Did he take a pay cut when Collins demanded everyone on more than $250,000 a year do so back in late 2002 after the salary cap rorts?

What was the extenet of his pay cut...or, as was mentioned somewhere on here, did he add an extra year to his contract to spread his total salary?

If so, details of such an arrangement would be appreciated.

Plus, any links to relevant media articles would be very much appreciated also.

Any details of backloading would be much appreciated too.

Forgive me. I live in Brisbane and fitting in to the community can be difficult when one lives so far away.

Why the "community" jibes verbs?

Do you want to have an actual discussion or is the agenda to take cheap shots? :?

BV, would you conceed that using the figure from the last year of a backloaded contract as somehow representative of what a player has cost the club over the whole of his contract is being misleading?

as an extreme example:

Year 1: $100,000
Year 2: $100,000
Year 3: $100,000
Year 4: $700,000

Average $250,000 a year.

Assuming that player had played like a $250,000 player over 4 years, is it then OK to criticise him in the 4th year of a contract because he earnt $700,000, and played only as a $250,000 player?

What a player earns is what the club was prepared to pay him when he signed his last contract. Do who hold the player solely responsible for that?
If your boss offered you double your wage would you say, no thanks?
Get on to more important arguments, like how are we going to win a game of football

Yes thats spot on buzz. Its not the players fault, the club is the one thats offers that money.

The player makes the offer to the club with the thread to leave.
Yes youre right the club accepts or declines the offer.

But when the club throws money around to everyone before you and uses the mantra.. "we dont lose anyone at Carlton".. its cannon fodder for the player to screw the club....

So the player gets the money he better perform or they get the shit kicked out of them by the coach and supporters.. thats how it works..
The player was well within their rights to ask for the big money... and the coach and supporters have every right to kick them in the head if theyre not performing cos the Carlton football club is not about feathering nests of players who dont perform as far as im concerned..!!!
And if they think it is ..and theyre not giving me anything to cheerr about on the field ill change th rules on what entertains me.
They affect me Big Brother because theyre costing my club from bringing in the players to be competitive and im not enjoying the footy Big Brother....so this week again Big Brother i nominate 2 votes to Campo and 1 vote to Lance.

This isn't the 80's. How are we going to bring in players by offering them money? I thought we were going to get them in by finishing last.

It seems Synbad that your eyes light up whenever Carlton gets a thumping.

It lets you start the whole 'I hate Camporeale / Whitnall' mantra all over again.

Yes, Synbad, you've been telling us this for quite a while now. Quite honestly you are sounding like a broken record.

I used to like reading your posts - it's nice to hear from someone who seems 'in the know', who has conversations with people at the club. It's a valuable insight, especially for interstate supporters (as I am).

But your rambling, bully-boy approach is old hat for me now i'm afraid.

I have to agree with everything you've said. I find myself skipping over Synbad's posts because 99% of the time it's the same rhetoric.

He is a JOKE and a DISGRACE to his football club.
To think that he is on 600k makes me sick. Campo consistently puts himself ahead of his teammates. He is a SELFISH footballer. Many of you will say 'oh but so many are like that'....true. HOWEVER, few have the audacity to play the way he does and still call themselves leaders. Campo is NOT a leader...quite frankly, he has done nothing to deserve his place in the 22. His conduct on the field is embarrasing and it is time to demote him...
Offer him $150,000 and if he doesnt take that...ship him back to SA. He needs a serious kick in the balls to make him realise that he is no more important then any other player at this club.

Synbad - you seem to be copping a bit of a pasting mate! However, unlike a lot of other posters, I think you are spot on in what you say. Us "minority" appreciate and respect what you have to say, so please continue with your "negativity"!

Im the champion of the underdog yayyyyyyyyyy !!! :D

Oh i wouldnt tailor what i say around popularisms... especially when it comes to jokers stealing the clubs future....
They can take the money but they will have to put up with the criticism if they cant perform for it...

Look Camporeale earns $627, 325 per annum before tax.

So knowing this improves our list because ............
