I believe this is a follow-up to a story by Tony Jones on last night's Nine news. Jones was talking about it on Sports 927 this morning, and said that some Carlton players had also been there, but that they did not their involvement mentioned by Nine (Betts was one name mentioned by Jones)

Well done if this is the case. As a parent of a son who plays Under-10s in the same league and whose team has also been struggling, I am sure the Eagles would have been rapt to see players from an AFL club come along to give them some support

Yeah, saw this on the news...Matty Lappin there too.

TJ also made a dig about how the Carlton players could genuiniely relate to the situation currently facing the Craigieburn Eagles.

Tony Jones has always been quick to sink the boots into Carlton. I dunno if he does it to suck up to Eddie or what, but it's quite pathetic behaviour from a so-called "reporter".

Tony Jones is a knob - refer to my list.

Good luck to Carlton for taking the time out to see these boys - however I would have thought Richmond would be doing it since they are building a new training facility out that way.

But on this issue about the Craigieburn Eagles - blame the club here for participating in the Essendon* District Football League - instead of the geographically closer and more demographically friendly Riddell District Football League. However you can probably blame the parents for pressuring the club to join the EDFL - where they absurdly think that their "little Johnnies" are more likely to be drafted.

That fat git TJ's jealous that even at his current age and size, he'd not even make a spot in the Craigeburn Eagles U14's.
