There have been tears, some in pain and some in joy!

I prefer the joy ones.

First time I remember crying over the Blues was when umpire Ian Robinson said Mike Fitzpatrick was time wasting taking the ball off him and awarding a free kick to Essendon*'s Neale Daniher, who kicked the matchwinning goal...actually - it still brings a tear to the eye...

I cried when we lost the 88' prelim........

keep in mind that during the game the wind changed direction to give 'the dees' the advantage, and they were given a goal when the ball hit the post.

I can still see that little work Ricky Jackson celebrating in front of me.

Justin Madden cried that day also, though after reading his book I can only assume it was because he was missing out on a big pay day the week after.

The Jim Park story almost got me earlier today, funnily enough, yet another of Patzfitrick's great wartime write-ups that tell the story of Carlton guns cut down in their prime

'73 GF when the pricks in black n yellow (belly) mercilessly sniped all of us one by one as cowardly bastards do to the defenseless, I cried.

We had no one to retaliate and stand up to them...they sniped everyone of those brave young men in Navy Blue.

Iy was Gallipoli on the MCG: the feral inbred enemy against brave Aussie athletes (who were favourites to win, because they were the best team by far in '73). The stolen Cup.

I cried that day...as in really upset ...as a young teenager who idolised every Carlton player, but especially Big Nick, Southby and Pinnell, I felt helpless, as did every decent spectator, policeman and decent person did.

Other tears shed were tears of joy or tears of an end of a Carlton era or Carlton career eg 99 prelim...and same events as many above.

I love the mighty blues....these days I'm just angry and looking for revenge. I have no pity for anyone else in the AFL.

We're Carlton @#$%&! the rest.

That's alright, I kissed grown men on the lips that I didn't even know just because they were Carlton supporters. They weren't particularly good looking men either.

You do that anyway. 99 wasn't any different for you...
