FF: B Fisher B Fevola E Betts

In my opinion this is our best current line-up. The only weakness i see is that we need one more key forward. If we could get somebody who is a strong presence at CHF, it allows Kruezer to play more in the ruck and closer to goals when forward. Walker, Fisher, Russell, Wiggins when he plays, are all good lead-up forwards, leading up to the wings. What we need is a strong presence at 50-60m from goal to straighten us up.

It would be great if Edwards could play this role, but from what i read on here, it wont happen???

I believe the backline is looking really good. Thornton, Jamo, Bower and Waite can take the Tall/Mid sized forwards, Armfield takes the dangerous small, Carrazzo can also play this role, and Scotland as a sweeper.

If we were to find a CHF from somewhere, Cloke would miss out. Kruezer and Hampson will be able to handle the ruck in 2009. Another preseason will do wonders.

I think we are looking bloody good!! :-D

instead of looking at brogan and white should we look at kosi, ryan murphy, tim boyle or cleve hughes? warnock i think will sign with melbourne so maybe a lesser known player. dont think kosi would come but i would like the blues to look at one of the above names. what about andrew lovett if he was to become available? would add great speed. if we did pick up a forward we could look at a key defender with our first pick, hurley i would assume. just a thought.

Cecil89 says "all we need is a tall forward ' . Obviously doesn't want to play finals . Lets face facts , there are at least 8 players getting a regular game with us that would not have played one with Geelong . We need a hell of a lot more than 1 good forward .

IMO Fantastic post nytdog, and really good team; representative of where we're at.

Carrazzo from Browne imo

Armfield is one of my favourites, but is only in his first year.

Dunno about Hartlett and Jackson. Maybe a lack of class is a good description for Jackson, but what an engine. Hartlett's position I think is dependent on the trade opportunities and likelihood of snagging a KP, or maybe whether we keep Aisake or not.

Edwards I gave up on a long long time ago, but the fact he's kicked goals in his first 2 games says something, but imo he lacks a bit of heart/ mongrel. Has potential, but we can't afford to kep em all, we must entertain this years draft and trade period.

What problem do you have with Browne, Bondi?

I'm tipping a big 2nd year for Steven after a rest and a full preseason ..will surpass Carrotts very quickly IMO

Edwards is still young enough to persist with for another year and I'd keep Harts as well for another year ..Jacko Benji and Blackers might be in trouble. I'll be filthy if Ratts shows Pfeiff the door.

Agree with Browne. He'll come on nicely and has skills that Carrazzo doesn't. There is nothing in Edwards worth persisting with. He doesn't have the mongrel or intensity for AFL, and doesn't have the magic you need in a key forward.

Agree nytdog . The 8 "outs" look right . . Allows us to bring up Jammo and Jacobs , and draft 6 new guys . I'd also try to trade Russell for a big , experienced ruckman , but realise that won't be easy to do .

I don't have a problem with Browne at all. I want to keep him unless the Warnock deal requires pick 24 and Browne instead of pick 6. But that's not a suggestion, it's my position if that situation arises.

For the BP role, I prefer Armfield to Browne as stated before; I admired the job Army did on Rioli in the last round.

At present, and highly likely in 2009, Carrazzo will be ahead of Browne, but there are signs to suggest he can replicate Carrazzo's feats and ability, and age certainly suggests there will be a time where he surpasses Carrots.

I have to say the similarities, between the two, also exists with their disposal because I've seen enough of Browne to believe his kicking is not what many posters perceive it is, although better than Carrots'. I think Carrots will always have the height and weight advantage in the clinches over Browne.

I too would like to see us persist with Hartlett and Edwards, as for Pfieffer, I'm not fussed as you.

I really want Warnock. He's the missing piece of my puzzle. Whilst I'm really happy with the list and it's balance, I have had a gap in the ruck all year, and believe if we can cover this (and it just may happen to be with Warnock), then I think the KP positions will evolve and improve with the stocks we have.

Banno resigned for another year, so not going to get delisted.

Where is Edwards on your list?

Jarz i do not think you are far off the mark.

Mine would be.

Thornton Jamison Bower

Grigg Waite Scotland

Simpson Gibbs Stevens

Walker Kruezer Houlihan

Betts Fevola Cloke

1st Ruck Warnock Judd Murphy

Int: Armfield Russell Carrazzo Hadley

Emg: Fisher, Hammer, Browne, Bentick, S O'Hailpin

I have presumed we pick up Warnock if not then a straight swap with Hammer.

I would like to see Fisher and Bentick offered as trade bait. I like these 2 blokes but i dont think they are in our future.

I am bemused that Edwards and Bannister got signed up again. I think all signs are leadint to a very quiet trade period for the blues with only one trade involving Warnock.

Delsitings will be: A. O'Hailpin, Saddington, Ackland, Benjamin (if they cant trade him), Blackwell (unfortunately)

I think rucci meant if we do not get Warnock, Hammer would be a straight swap IN for Warnock out, rather than being an emegency
