Definately.

I can't see us playing 5 talls in the backline either.

Ok...just had a go, this is tough...yes, finally we are getting a bit of depth (long way to go though)...

B: Carazzo Jamison Thornton
HB: Bower O'hAilpin Scotland
C: Walker Murphy Simpson
HF: Houlihan Waite Gibbs
F: Betts Fevola Fisher
R: Hampson Stevens Judd
I/C: (from) Kreuzer Grigg Cloke Bentick Russell Browne Hadley Bannister Wiggins

Some comments:

Carazzo goes back to where he started, in a back pocket. But he is still our best small defender, and now can keep someone out of the game and get 20-25 possessions.

O'hAilpin at CHB assumes he continues the improved form of the last 2 weeks. I think if he can, he's our best bet at CHB.

Houlihan I think is a potential 50-60 goal forward if they'd play him there.

I think Hampson will be clearly our number 1 ruckman sooner rather than later.

Bentick, Cloke and Grigg all unlucky to miss out on the starting 18, but that's a good sign. And I'm a big fan of Bentick's, it was hard for me to leave him out. I think he has so much to offer. Maybe Bentick in for Houlihan, put Walker to a foward flank and Murphy to a wing, Bentick in the middle.

Back and forward lines have good balance of talls and smalls, something I don't think we've got right too often over the last 2-3 years, especially up forward. Houlihan, Gibbs and Betts offer a good range of skill and tackling (all skillful, Gibbs and Betts good tacklers).

a long time down the track.

I think we have a great defensive mix and one that i think can become the best in the league in a few years because we can play 5 talls because some of those talls can 'play small'.

S.O'hAilpin, Thornton, Waite, Bower and Jamison are all tall blokes but the likes of Bower and Jamison i think are capable on playing on smaller types of forwards. Gives us great flexibility and height advantage down back.

Waite, O'hAilpin and even Thornton can be thrown forward as well.
Which i would like to see in the near future given our lack of tall forward targets.

Looks good to me.

Looks about spot on for me for this year. Setanta to CHB. Try Waite CHF if not Wing. And Hampson as no 1 ruckman. I like.
However I think when we push for a flag in the future players such as
Anderson, Armfield, Edwards, Austin, Ellard, Joseph (or some of) will be right up there and very possibly permanent 22 fixtures.

Especially Anderson and Edwards

No Stevo and no Fev??? your talking 5 years down the track so at least 8 spots would be filled from guys not even on our list yet surely?

Just though I would update:

B. Anderson Jamison Bower
HB. Browne Austin Grigg
C. Walker Murphy Simpson
HF. Gibbs Cloke Waite
F. Kreuzer Fevola Betts
R. Hampson Judd Armfield

Int from: Setanta Pfeiffer Carrazzo Thornton Bannister Stevens Scotland Hadley.

Hard to fit them all in. Add maybe 2 recruits and 6 more kids at the end of the year and it starts to look very promising!

Side has improved speed and skill and more on ball options. Improved goalkicking options as well as a young and maturing defence.

Start Stevens off bench and bring on when heat out of game when he can do damage. Do not try and make him player he is not.

Hampson & Kruezer rotate out of forward pocket. Cloke to stay as CHF with assistance of Waite who can also play some midfield. Armfield can tag. Betts more on ball time. Walker can float back and be loose in defence as well as pushing forward, can rotate that role with Waite.

Lot to like!

Try fitting them in now!

B. Carrazzo Setanta Jamison
HB. Browne Bower Grigg
C. Walker Murphy Simpson
HF. Gibbs Cloke Waite
F. Kreuzer Fevola Betts
R. Hampson Judd Armfield

Int from: Russell Fisher Bentick Pfeiffer Thornton Bannister Stevens Scotland Hadley Anderson Austin Hartlett Jackson Wiggins.

 I could do about 10 versions?

Delistings are getting hard. There are real cases now for Wiggins etc maintaining their spots.

For me Ackland, Saddington, Blackwell, Benji, Aisake are in the gun but they still have some time. We still probably need to look at 6-8 players going, won't be easy. Jamo onto list years end.

Jamo & Jacobs I hope ... means at least 6 deletions to allow for 3 ND picks and 1 PSD pick.

PSD will be waste of time this year for us.
For out-of-contract player that is.

Seems only the coach and the match committee think Wiggo is in our best 22.
Maybe some of the posters on here should apply for a coaching position.

Don't mind doing this every couple of weeks. Gives a good indication of our improvement and how players are going:

B. Anderson Setanta Jamison
HB. Browne Bower Grigg
C. Stevens Bentick Simpson
HF. Walker Waite Betts
F. Houlihan Fevola Kruezer
R. Hampson Judd Murphy

Int from: Cloke (Backup Ruck/CHF) Wiggins (Small Marking Fwd) Thornton (key Defender) Armfield Carrazzo Scotland Hadley (Part of Awesome midfield rotation) Bannister (Utility shutdown player).

VERY dangerous fwd line. Young developing backline. Potentionally as good a midfield you would find.

End of the year add about 4 picks, 1 PSD and a 'big fish'!

That midfield would look a lot better with GIBBS in it... actually the team would look better with GIBBS in it

Maybe they think that Wiggo deserves to get on the locker while he is giving a medium contribution to the team.

Would love to see Wiggo get on the locker. Love the bloke.

If he does not deliver in the next three or four weeks would also love to see either the next generation take over or Wiggo become a double figure goal forward. :)
