Every year in the off season it is almost impossible to fit all the players into the best 22 . So many gun players to choose from.
Come round 5 to 6 you are hard pressed picking 22.

Let's hope that this trend stops this season

True

A better run with injury will be a good starting place.
You'd think with another preseason and well driled Game Plan the depth will come from that.

Thought about it and created a headache so will leave it to Teague to earn his pennies.

This looks pretty spot on to me. Simmo interchangeable with will pending form and fitness.

Simmo, Gibbons, JSOS, LOB, Kennedy, Fisher, Dow all unlucky. Starting to get some real depth and we’ll have another first rounder draft pick to add to that list soon

Looks like we’ll get Martin, so

Marchy Jones Newman
Samo Weiters Doc
Simpson Cripps Fish
Martin Charlie Cunners
Eddie McKay McGov
Kreuz Ed Walsh
Int: Murphy, Plowman, Dow, JSOS

Emg - in order: Cas, Stocker, Newnes, Gibbons, Setters, LO’B, Kennedy, TDK, Willo, Lang

Went with JSOS over other options due to flexibility on fwd, mid and back
Assume rotating 7 man backline with Simpson playing the loose defensive wing
Hope Stocker can break in early due to performance
LOB and Newnes could take the Fish position, but want to give the 1st crack
Cas will be great depth and likely play plenty but I prefer Marchbank to start
Gibbons also unlucky after the season he had but I think Dow and Cunners will be preferred initially

Starting to get some good depth

Weitering
Newnes

Cripps
SPS

Kreutzer
Murph
Ed

That's a huge spine from Plowman to Gibbons Swanny

You weren't impressed with what you saw with The Gov when he came back from Boot Camp with Russell?

Is it just me or do the players look a little thin in the arms and shoulders in the latest training pics?

When does AR have them hitting the weights?

I know our fitness staff are very strict on the young guys not bulking up too much too soon. Weitering and TDK in particular have been pulled aside in the past and told to lay off the weights

Well will you look at that list of names out of the best 22. Lucky for them that injury-illness means at least a few opportunities are likely for them each week ! But I say a fit Willo and Stocker are auto top 22 picks and would walk into most teams. The rest are all about right, but in a couple of years, the King could be the next Grundy. Appears we have some depth

He definitely improved however until proven otherwise, Casboult is the better player.

I thought Levi did really well in defense with the absence of Jones and Marchbank, and Gov played forward. Different roles.

By the way, I love Levi and agree he earned a spot in the 22 after his 2019 performance, and should be considered as the inform backman against that backdrop.

Having said that, I wonder if he has to make way for Jones and Marchbank if they are fully fit.

Point is, I don't think the Levi selection has anything to do with Gov.
As a forward Levi playes the KPD/Ruck role, which is not what Gov plays, and my gut feel is that I don't think Levi will take Harry McLay's spot TBH.

Fair enough. Hard to fill your team full of our best players when you are limited to positions with the big guys.

I am harsh on Gov because from day one , I had a feeling he would be a bust and besides a few glimpses of showing what he can do, I haven't seen anything that tells me otherwise.

For a 1st year player to be in a position where he became unfit and needed a boot camp, is unacceptable. I can't accept that, not until he starts performing.

McGovern has come back early and incredibly trim.
