#3 doesn't get a game.
We might as well have traded that pick away.

I don't care who goes where.

With natural improvement from Kennedy, Cuningham, Pickett, Fisher, Curnow C., JSOS, McKay, Kerr, #3, #10, etc could be exciting times next year.

Glass always half full.

Wouldn't be surprised if we still finish bottom two given the lack of experienced quality midfielders.

Without giving it much thought, and a couple under my belt, that looks like the team.
I expect Casboult and Lang to feature too...and a couple of bolters too.
ASOS will get our love again too.

my thoughts also...
I think Lang may have the edge on Fisher or pick 3 initially.
Regarding casbolt - I actually think he has more to offer in the short term than Mckay or Silvagni, although hopefully the latter two overtake him. I am not sure how Jack will go in the future - his strengths appear to be in his football 'smarts' more than anything else and i am not sure if that will be enough. Be interesting to compare weltering to silvagni as that link up taller forward (with ASOS down back). having said that he has held his spot as a young player and I have been pleasantly surprised with how he has gone so far...

The great thing is that if we went with Rexy's team our reserves team may look like this and it is great to see the depth...

White, ASOS, Macreadie
Pick 10 Rowe, Pick 30
Boeky Kerridge Polson
Lamb Casbolt Thomas
Smedts Kerr Le Bois

Graham, Lobb, Lang

This is what I hope to see.

Byrne Jones Weitering
Plowman Marchbank Docherty
Simpson Cripps Murphy
Petrovski-Seton Curnow Pickett
Lang Silvagni Casboult
Kruezer Kennedy E.Curnow(?)
Fisher Cunningham Williamson Polson
Emerg: McKay Macreade Pick3
* hope Kerr, LeBois Pick10 keep pushing
This should be the core group as much as possible now!!!

Depth players, only if needed - such as Wright, Thomas, Lamb, Kerridge...

I have no doubt Jack SOS will be a star.

He's still young.

Class, plus footy smarts, and that typical Silvagni ability to never give up and close down in the chase let alone smothering.

Good kick when he has energy. Really good mark. Protects the space.

He's a footballer who needs to build up stamina over the next 2 preseasons plus.

I think he may play time in the middle like his grand father.

It's nice to genuinely find it difficult to pick a best 22 for the right reasons (too many to choose from), instead of "who can keep Ellard, Warnock and Tutt out?"

I like his energy but Fisher will need to get more of the ball in 2018.

I thought he'd battle to get a game last year but there he was in Rd1 and too many other games last year :banghead:

Let's hope he's only called on during an injury plague in 2018.

C: Dale Thomas, Patrick Cripps, Darcy Lang
HF: Matthew Wright, Levi Casboult, Matthew Kennedy
F: Jack Silvagni, Charlie Curnow, Sam Petrevski-Seton
R: Matthew Kreuzer, Ed Curnow, Marc Murphy
INT: Ciaran Byrne, David Cuningham, Jarrod Pickett, Alex Silvagni

NOTES: Midfielders Patrick Cripps and Ed Curnow were sadly missed towards the end of this season because of injury and their return will be welcomed. While Bryce Gibbs’ defection to the Crows will hurt in the short term, the Blues have added much-needed depth to their midfield with the inclusion of ex-Giant Matthew Kennedy and former Cat Darcy Lang, who should go straight into their best combination. Scoring enough goals has been Carlton’s biggest problem for a while and a priority for Brendon Bolton in 2018 will be finding the right combination in the forward half. The Blues have two first-round picks in next month’s NAB AFL Draft and are set to add at least one more young midfielder/defender.

NOT CONSIDERED: Andrew Phillips (foot – TBC), Sam Rowe (ACL – hopes to be back mid-season)

REMAINING SENIOR LIST: Blaine Boekhorst, Zac Fisher, Nick Graham, Patrick Kerr, Sam Kerridge, Jed Lamb, Matthew Lobbe, Harrison Macreadie, Harry McKay, Cameron Polson, Billie Smedts, Simon White, Tom Williamson.

REMAINING ROOKIE LIST: Jesse Glass-McCasker, Kym Lebois - Howard Kotton

For me its and hoping some train with Cripps at the parents farm,
Simpson Jones Marchbank
Byrne Weitering Williamson
Cunners Docherty SPS
Murphy Charlie Fisher
Wright McKay Pickett
Kreuzer Kennedy Cripps
Anyone from; Lang Plowman SOJ Ed Pick 3 & 10.
Pick 3 & 10 will give us another 2 quality kids.
Casboult and Thomas will play, I prefer they don't.
Our list is taking shape, hope bolts and co can develop them.

Needs to be more selfish by foot. Has a good left foot on him but always looks for the hb
