I honestly have to disagree on this....
If anything, Wallsy suffers from trying not to be biased towards us....

Wallsy is just as bad as Voss.

Ackland should never ever play in the navy again... Never.

Pros - Jamison

Cons - Dome and lack of pace and we are just crap there.

Grro. Come on. It's Ackland. The game is not up to him.

More pros than evident from the score:

Eddie "If they all showed his desparation, they wouldn't be behind by 50" Betts
Steven "Lace Out" Browne
The WIG!!
JR - admit it people!!
Jamo!

Cons:
With this game and the Big V game, Waitey may not have too long in the D line as coaches appear to have worked him out....

Pro: Scotland, back to his best after an indifferent start to the year
Eddie Betts, is in Carlton's best 22 without a doubt
Setanta, at least gives a flower

Cons: I have seen more intensity in an amateurs game than what Carlton displayed tonight

Pros:
Jamo
Eddie
Browne
Slimo

Cons:
Lack of midfield pressure, esp. at stoppages
Jamo's injury
Waite's 1 on 1 defence
Fev's attitude
the whole teams piss poor excuse for a first quarter

Pros:
- Murphy: Pendlebury playing for Victoria FFS!
- Jamison: Destroyed Bradshaw, who only got a cheap one after he went off
- Fev: 5 goals under VERY trying conditions was a great effort
- Scotland: 39 touches, regardless of how you get them, that's an effort - and a half
- Simpson/Stevens/Gibbs: Never gave up
- Bentick: Still flabbergasted that people want to drop him
- Browne: Will be a gem

Cons:
- Fisher: Low on form and confidence. Give him a run in the 2s to get some touch back.
- Russell: First let me say that THIS IS NOT A WITCH HUNT. But after he kicked a goal, I didn't hear his name mentioned again, and for a bloke who's supposed to be a midfielder, got his hands on the ball FAR less than everyone else. Still cannot see the upside.
- Ray Chamberlain: It's been said
- Cain Ackland: A disgrace to the CFC #11!
- No pressure in our forward half. 7 flowering rushed behinds!
- Came out like a bunch of flowering pussies

We came out flat footed and disposed poorly in the first twenty minutes conceeding a 6 goal lead. The margin stayed the same for the remaining 100 minutes. You can't give away starts like that. A disappointing game. Forget about the junk time last quarter.

PROS

1. Simpson - If we had an award for most consistent, he'd be winning I reckon.

2. Kreuzer - what a gun.

3. Jamo beat Bradshaw till he got injured (con?)

4. Cain ackland will never play another game for Carlton

5. Dunno

CONS

1. The hAck - Match committee tossed up between the 'experience' of Ackland and the rawness of Hammo. They got it so very very very wrong. Piss this bloke off to the Bullants for good.

2. Gibbs - I still have confidence he'll be a gun - BUT - (1) we need to find him a position in thr middle instead of playing him on the opposition's indigenous FP every week, and (2) STOP LOOKING SIDEWAYS EVERY TIME YOU GET IT GIBBA!!!!!! He is a crab at the moment. LOOK UP SON!

3. Our midfield got mauled - forget the stats, because we share it around. We couldn;t buy a centre clearance and Brisbane strangled our midfield, they wanted it more, they tackled harder. We couldn't stop their rebound 50's early on, they amok through the corridor

4. Too many guys that aren't AFL footballers are playing due to injury - Bentick, Ackland, Setanta chief amongst them. We can;t afford to have blokes like 31, 32, 33, 1 out of the side.

5. Disposal and decision making still needs a lot of work

Disappointing night, and there will be a few more yet before we are 'there' as a side unfortunately.

That's the way I took it too... :)
Compare his game to Grigg - I didn't even realise Grigg was playing until the 4th quarter when I heard his name twice in 3 minutes....

Grigg may have had a blinder, for all I know - I just didn't see him! :)

But JR was one of the best, by far - even if just for the fact that it didn't look like he turned up half asleep!
